My Journey in REI

Today I ordered Your Town Your Real Estate Profits and Profit from Real Estate Right Now. I am currently reading YTYREP online until the book comes in. Friday I plan on ordering Be a Real Estate Millionaire.

Had plans to go to an REI meeting today but couldn't b/c I waited to late to register so I am going to go the one provided tomorrow just to see what it is about. Currently wondering to you have to pay to go every REI club meeting. Are there any REI clubs around that you don't have to pay for? Is this normal or not? I guess the only way to find out to start going to different ones and see.

My REI goal for May is to finish reading the first to Books purchased by 5/31/11 and attend a REI at least once a wk.

the right agent

Being new to this I am trying to find an agent that is knowlegable from an investor perspective and is willing to work with me. We thought we had found one but when I mentioned that I will want to be making multiple offers her response was, "Well, what are you going to do if 2 or 3 get accepted. You're going to have to buy all of them." I told her I would rely on the inspection contingency and approval of my partner contingency. She said the partner clause won't fly and if the seller agrees to all the repairs then I am stuck and in for a lawsuit if I back out.

Some day I hope to have enough capital in play that this won't be a problem but until then is her concern legitimate or is she just throwing up roadblocks? Should I keep searching for the right agent?

Burn the Ships--NO way to retreat

Good Day all,
I have been around the real estate circuit now for many years and today am just like many of you starting out: broke! Even I don't have a home but I have something more, an undying spirit. Have the same stories as many of you, lots of courses, tried many things, invested in so-call mentors who took the money and ran. Phooey. Today I even have some infamous R.E. Guru's company charging me thousands of dollars on my credit report for a course they never even gave me. I challenged that and the credit reporting agencies claim that they have proof. Wow, what next?

The Next Chapter: Onward and Upward

I have hesitated to start my journal and I don't know why...up until now, I didn't feel like I had anything to say that belonged on these pages yet. I like to write, and sadly I don't do enough of it in any form.

I was a travel agent back in the 90s, before the internet took over, then I got married and gave up my job to stay home with the kids. Well, the kids all grew up, the husband and I went our separate ways and my motivation is the fact that I find myself in my early 40's, no college degree, no retirement, very little work experience, nothing to fall back on and virtually no extra funds. Currently working full-time for a local telecommunications co, and I like my job but it barely pays the bills.

I took the leap of faith

After 2 years of procrastination of keep seeing Dean on TV late night, but did order be a real estate millionaire.
Fast forward a month ago a post-card came to my PO Box and I took my friend to a presentation and two hours later I was buying anything and every proram they showed me there (3 day indider's edge, skw tax liens, enhance wesite help).
A week later attended a 3 day insiders edge training and then a stumble block set in and I didnt find the income means to go further my education by going to the summit but I remembered what my 3 day insiders edge trainer Marc Hriscko told me, once a student and you always a student.

I need advice on how to best get private money lenders. I am in the process of getting involved with REIA meetings but was looking for other suggestions to be working on in the meantime. Thanks!

I need some questions answered, if there is anyone out there that can help please step forward, I would really appreciate it. my name is Ernesto "AKA stargazer" I bought Dean's books in 1-2011 and I have read them at least 5 times and I am still scared to take the leap but I have been moving forward. I made the website that Dean gave ud for free but I still don't know how to upload it to the google siteor the yahoo or msn site, I am not that good on the computer. I mamages to talk to some real estate agents that said they had worked with REI's but when it came down to it they refused to make my offers so I moved on and now I am going to meet with 2 other agents that say they understand REI.

Do you need license to Bird Dog??

I just got a call from a real estate broker saying that you can not make any type of commision of property if your are not licensed. Is this true? If not, How do I need to go about it.

Getting The Comps

Hello DG family,can anybody tell me the best way to get comps.It isnt best to use a realtor to get comps if they are trying to sell you a house on the mls,is it? You surely would'nt go ask the new owners! When they say get comps,just like the house your looking into,and the same neigborhood.When they say neighborhood,do they mean the same block or close to it,or the same zip code? Without using a realtor,how can you find out what properties recently sold?
