Investing Journals

JerseyAl's Journal

Well, I'm finally making the plunge into real estate investing. I have spent the vast majority of the last two days jotting down as many of the elements of my "to do" list that must be accomplished in order to hit the ground running on or about Novemberr 1, 2010.

I have been using Dean's "Profit From Real Estate Right Now" and "Your Town Your Real Estate Profits" as a guide and I hope to soon receive the "Gain The Edge" which I just ordered.

It's getting late and I've been at this since 6:00 a.m., so I think I'll call it a day for now and get cracking again tomorrow morning. I have to admit that even though I haven't gone live yet, I am feeling very excited and motivated because I am making positive strides and moving forward.

Day 1

I am brand new, just got Deans books two days ago and just finished last night. I am a 23 year old guy and I know that I think different from other people. I have alot of negative people in my life and still am always looking for opportunities to better myself help people and make some money. I have the bug in me that wants so badly to be successful. I am a firefighter in Colorado (love helping people and proves it is not all about the money!) This course and the things i learned in Deans new book just blew me away! I have great credit but literally no money so I love the IEE and Assignments. The support amazes me and then to find a place to share strategies and connect with other people doing this is really motivating!

Latoya's Journal to Success

I am starting this journal to hold my self accountable. I hope my title is not misleading...I am saying this is my success story and I am journaling (is that a word??) it.

I ordered Dean's book 6 days ago and I cannot wait for the book to arrive. It is the beginning of new and exciting chapter in my life.

Here is my story...

User Journal - Gregory

I have only had Dean's books for a few weeks, but I am making more time since this is very important to me. I'm starting from scratch, and will just try to journal everything. Right now I'm still reading Dean's first book "Profit from Real Estate Right Now". I don't know much, but I am trying my best to become a sponge and absorb all the knowledge I can.
Next Week I will also plan to sign up for Dean's Success Academy. I am excited and looking forward to really knowing the ins and outs of Dean's real estate techniques and strategies. I am currently working a lot so time is scarce, but I am so excited with what I am learning and planning, that I will make the time! Smiling

HL going for the gold Journal

OK I got my book last month- have read and highlighted it through and through- I have signed up for the success academy and will be "meeting" my coach on Monday the 1st of Nov, my brother-in-law is an agent, my sister-in-law is a cash buyer looking for a home for the last year (157K in cash with 200K total that she can get ahold of in no time), I have been activly looking at houses, and have conected with the REIA in my area Washington State (King, Snohomish, Island, Skagit, Watcom Counties)I have set a goal (only because I spent part of the house payment on the success academy) to make my first deal by Nov 10th. Can I do it- Well Handy Mandy YES I CAN! So will post again in 2 weeks as that is the due date!

Had a good Day!

I'm rehabing a flip house with an investor, (my first deal.) Well the investor paid cash for the house and when we sell the house we split the profit. My job is to remodel the house with a set amount of money (all the money the investor has left.) Well we are almost done and don't have enough money to finish the remodeling. So today I contacted some lenders I found in the local newspaper, and we are getting a loan at 10% interest due in one year or when we sell the house.
Also, I stopped by a real estate office today and looked at some listings with an agent and talked a bit for about a half hour, as I was leaving they invited me to attend a RE club meeting this evening which I did attend and made a few friends and contacts.

Very Cool!!!

Discouraged and Confused

At this present moment, I've read material and previously purchased Gain the Edge 10. All this material is very exciting.

About a week ago I was presented an opportunity from a fellow DGer. I was to contact REA's in my area who were interested in the services he provides and I would get a fee. Which right now in my life would be awesome! Unfortunately all of them weren't interested and some where a little annoyed. I'm worried that because of this approach that it would have a negative effect on me when trying to contact other REA when trying to put the other techniques into play.

Just wanting a little feedback, some advice or a technique that you've applied that helped you see results and gain confidence right away.

Responses greatly appreciated!
Thank You

Mike L: From the Beginning

I am very excited to start my journal. As I see this as a step in the right direction for my REI career. I just finished reading BARM and cannot wait to start on my path. I have set goals for not only my REI career, but also, my life as well.
