Hijacked Threads

Hoping the admin will address this issue.

I thought Dean was selling ad space, I saw some of these products that would be good for x-mas presents lol

Everyday Im Hustlin. lol

Christmas is coming up and alot of folks are doing some crazy things just to get it.

One particular user has posted over 80 of these SPAM-a-licious replies.

They should be removed soon enough.

30 of them the other day and removed them--unfortunately, we STILL CAN'T flag blogs/bio's

Seems NOBODY follows the RULES!!

Wow it is prolific right now I see.

very annoying.... I come here to try to avoid the stores during xmas shopping mayhem...

I flag them too, but it gets tiring... and you can't flag blogs...

I'm on a windows pc using Firefox:

Right click on "Flag as Offensive" and select "open in new tab". Do for each SPAM reply in the thread you wish to flag. Must be on each DIFFERENT reply, not on the same "Flag as offensive" button in one reply.

On the first new FLAG tab, select "other" for reason, and write SPAM in message area. Now highlight the word SPAM and copy it (either right click then copy or using keyboard shortcut ctrl and c keys together)

Click on send, wait for page to update.

Now you're all set to roll with this procedure:

Keyboard short cut (works for firefox) ctrl and w to close that tab, browser should close that tab and display next FLAG tab inline.

position cursor on the "reason" dropdown menu, click, hit the o key for "other", hit the tab key, keyboard shortcut ctrl and v to paste in SPAM for message area, tab again and hit your enter key.

Page updates, ctrl w, etc etc, lather, rinse & repeat

did about 60 of these in 10 minutes or so

Can we use this on Bio's/Blogs???

I should clarify a little, you can't delete the original blog post but you can delete any comments thereafter.

bummer.....and I was soooooo looking forward to snatching them up and pimpen the lace wig, new boots and goose down jackets to really set off the little dress being advertised! lol

guess the world will have to wait and just have to take advantage of the fabuliciousness next time! bhahahaahaha!!

Guys and Gals, the only way this will end is if you send a PM to dgadmin2. Voice your concern and the appropriate measures will be taken (I HOPE). I am in total agreement with all of you. Even easier... I have just been clicking on "Flag as offensive" . Click on "other" and enter. I don't write anything in the box @ all.

All jokes aside, we apologize for the spam being on the site. Since Cyber Monday, it looks like the spam has increased. We are currently working on creating a new security system that will help eliminate most (if not all) spam in the future.

I appreciate your understanding this matter. I wanted to stop by and drop a line stating we are working on this!

I am also thinking that Bill's (TrustPoints) idea of a paid site is worth considering as well.

How about free membership for those that have purchased DG products? Not many people here that don't have a book or other product already.

They use capchas for pm's, why not use them for posts & replies? Would make it harder to spam so easily.

Also have to remember this is what we're dealing with this site now. The new site might have different features we are not aware of or have used yet.

All options are being considered. Whatever option we go with will definitely be better than we have now!

Until the decision is made and changes are done, ANY way WE can get a flag/removal tool to use on "Blogs" and Bio's", since thats where we CAN'T flag/remove the clutter?? Thanks for you attention-

the capchas idea in only that it is too time consuming.

I think, isn't it? If it's too time-consuming, it may deter the spammer/s.
