Not only have we gotten several calls from them, but just closed on a property last week as a result of the seller seeing our car.
The Best part is that she wanted $ 25,000 for the property & we got it for $ 18,000.
We have done this deal with a fellow DG Member who lives in Ohio & we are here in Florida.
In less than a week we have cleared out the overgrown brush in the yard, painted the exterior of the house(which was brutal with 95 degree/85% humidity)
including the trim, cut up & disposed of the carpet & started painting the interior.
We will be replacing kitchen cabinets, appliances,
light fixtures & ceiling fans, & of course paint & carpet.
We should have about $ 4000 in materials, & be able to sell it for $ 35,000 to $ 39,000. Now, 13K to 17K is not "big" money, but not bad for 2 to 3 weeks of
us doing the rehab ourselves. The greatest thing about
it is that we don't work for anyone but ourselves.

By the way, our partner from Ohio is "cub". Ryan & I seem to have like opinions regarding REI & the same type of work ethic. In fact he has done a couple of rehabs on HUD properties.
We have also went into contract together on 2 HUD properties here where I live. Now that really has something to say about the DG website, a partnership on 3 deals, with 2 guys who never even met each other in person.

Magnetic signs are definitely good for marketing.
Another benefit is, since we are often found slowly cruising thru distressed neighborhoods, before my signs, people would really give me the eye, wondering if I was casing the area. Now, they see the signs and just go about their business. So, they and I feel safer.
I felt a little self conscious about them at first, but now I don't even think about them being there. When people stop me in a parking lot to ask questions, I have that second where I think, "How did they know what I do?"

I also feel more secure having a sign on my car when I am driving neighborhoods. They also are great advertisements, yes! Great idea Jason about how we can share pics. I've often wanted to see others deals, so maybe we can start sharing pics as well. Wish we had that function on here.

...I searched the internet & the car size runs about $ 20 to $ 30 each depending upon size, color & copy. I even have a 2' X 3' on the sides of my work van, & smaller ones on the driver's, passengers's & rear doors stating we also Sell Houses; Rent to Own, Lease Options; Cash, Quick Closings.
People are always coming up to us & asking about it, hand them a bussiness card & keep on networking!
So they have ones that are just magnets so I could take it off when ever I want?

I got mine on Vistaprint. I ordered the large size and if I am not mistaken they were right @ $30.

in this business, you just need to market yourself in many formats. Because of the size of our profits per deal, you can almost justify anything that's legal!! LOL

Cost may vary in different regions. I placed calls this week to several sign shops I found in the phone book and will order in a few weeks. Cost does vary by size and design-if you want things photoshopped etc. Price for a simple, one color in NJ varied from $55-110 for a pair. I did not research online companies. Sign shops wanted me to come in to approve the design before they made the final product. I don't know how they do that for online orders.
I've been given the evil eye too so I know what you mean!!

It's amazing that 2 complete stangers that are 1500 miles apart can hook up & become friends & partners because of a website! Barbour is finished on the exterior except for painting the driveway, too much rain here. Interior front half of the house is painted, Jill has patched, textured and painted the
bathroom, will clean it today to be ready for tub glazing tomorrow. Yesterday we took out the kitchen cabinets, counters, sink & primed it so we can paint today. Carpet should be installed on Friday & will start marking it this weekend. Two weeks on this rehab, this is the fastest one to date!!!
