Selected 26 properties to call on

I have 26 properties that I am now calling on consisting of vacant and fsbo. I'll do my comps on all of them and select which ones I would like to go inspect. Wow, this is exciting...when you think you are stuck, or are not moving fast enough, don't worry the pace will pick up considerably.

Helpful Hint

This may not seem like much but it will help you remember what you learn. When reading dean's books or any book for that matter, when you come across something you feel you need to know. Read it, write it down word for word, then read it again. Repeat as many times as necessary. The repitition of writing it down multiple times will help you retain the info. Hopefully this helps, it certainly helps me.

I just ordered 3 of Dean's books and cant wait for them to get here. I'm not sure what I'm doing so any and all help would be great. I am nervous about all this, as I guess as were others. Thank you for your support in advance

Those who tell you...
you can't do that.... don't know how to do it themselves
you shouldn't do that... are afraid to do it themselves

Business is like a game and games are like war.
You discover quickly who is on your side (support you and encourage you)
You find the enemy quicker... (people who try to slow you down or stop your forward movement)

In business... the worst enemy is the one that makes you think it was your idea to quit.
This is usually done by scaring you (fear is the strongest weapon in any war/game/or business).
Misinformation from the enemy causes more people to fail and lose than any other factor.

Always filter information as to its source.... Fact or Opinion. Opinions are often misinformation.

Getting back into REI after 2 1/2 months away from it...

Well I've been out of the REI scene since 12/23/09, due to a partnership gone south. Got tired of all the b.s. that came along with partnering up with a coattail rider(too stressful). Now, I'm in debt up to my eyeballs, lost my nissan altima about 2 months ago and to top it all off, my unemployment benefits have also ran out. Now more than ever I need to make something happen, or else, so I've decided to get back into investing and this time I intend to make it happen....ALONE! Just like I first started out in the beginning. So with that being said, I've got my old cash buyer contacts to call up come monday morning to start the ball rolling once again.

My First Contact

I was surprised to find out just how many houses are on the market. Especially right here in my own subdivision. As I was driving around this morning looking at properties I ran in to a real estate agent who was having an open house.

I took Matt Larson's advice and I told him I was new to REI and in the next three years wanted to retire myself from my job. I told him I was aggressively pursuing this and was in need of a motivated RE agent to work with. He excitedly gave me his info and asked "What is your name again?" He gave me a market analysis of the properties in our subdivision and asked me to call him anytime for more info.

Fate (Kate) in Real Estate, Ohio & Florida

I joined this site quite some time ago and took time away as I became a Licensed Agent in Florida and Ohio which required quite a bit of studying and learning. It's been almost a year since I obtained my first license and I have no regrets. However, I have to admit that Rina might have been on to something when she said she wouldn't want to do what Agents do (coming from the other side where we work agents to death)...except I do love helping people buy their own little piece of Paradise in Florida.

I'm just starting out with the academy up in MA. Hitting a lot of road blocks with less than cooperative agents and investors. However, I spoke with my coach for just the second time last night and I am completely blown away by his knowledge and willingness to help me succeed. I don't care if I have to call him everyday til I make my first deal and everyday after that for the next year. Nothing will stop me from making this work in this area and for myself. It's my first entry and I'm looking forward to logging my first deal very soon. I just hope my coach doesn't mind me calling him EVERY DAY!

The Beginning

I ordered the "Profits In Your Town" book two days ago and I am in Chapter three, but what has grabbed me right off the bat was the 7 levels deep exercise in Chapter Two. I watched the video of Dean and his guest and I thought,"hmm, interesting". I read his experience doing the exercise and was intrigued at his comment of it being an emotional experience for him. I wanted to blow it off and get to the meat and potatoes of the book, but something nagged me in my mind. What if this guy really can help me? I have purchased another of Dean's books and it had good information, but to be honest I fell off before completing it because I couldn't see how it would help.

Green as grass

Hello everyone. I am new to real estate investing and also to journal talk. I am extremely excited about the new adventure I am about to embark on. I just got Dean's books two weeks ago and they are awesome. I love that it is an easy read and Dean explains things so simply that anyone can understand. I just finished BARM and am half way through the his latest book. Can't wait to get started.
