NM Real Estate "Newbie" Starting out with DG

Hey Everyone,

Just stopped in to start my Journal. My family has been in the RE business for a number of years on the East Coast of the US. I myself am now in the Southwest (NM) starting out with Dean's 30 Days to Real Estate Cash.

I've already read through the whole book and now I am starting out on Week 1. I have an account here at DG now and am starting this Journal. I have a list of offices to call in the Albuquerque area to locate an agent. I will be hitting up my local AAA office for a map of ABQ later this week so I can locate the hot spots and areas of further development.

After reading so many success journals, I believe this works. I also have an LLC setup here in NM that I haven't actually used for anything so I may work the RE business into it.

Los Angeles Newbie fired up and ready to run!

Ok, just starting, no deals yet. I went to a Live Seminar in Los Angeles area (Thousand Oaks) on 2/2/13. I could not afford the 3 day training offered so I read all 4 books on the CD and starteing from there. I have a website and email, I have ads posted on craigslist and will do Bandit signs this weekend. I talked to RE Agents/Brokers but so far they have just basically laughed at me and said "sorry but this is Los Angeles and it doesnt work like that here". Its been a busy few days but doing all I can to suceed. So I am searching for deals and buyers on my own. Anyone offering mentoring would be awesome. I have joined the local Groups on DG site also. I am eager and very hungry to get that first deal. AND my family is depending on me making this a success or we are in serious jeapordy.

Hi DG Family,

I came across an empty house, found the owner, sent a letter. She called me the day she got my letter. She told me that the house was foreclosed on in 2010. Do anyone have any advise on what my next step should be? I found her information by going to the county website.

2012 Home Sales Best in 5 Years

Closing out the books on December home sales resulted in reports that 2012 was the best year in the past 5 years. According to the National Association of Realtors, December previously-owned home sales came in just under November’s but were up 12.8% from the year before. Full year sales were 4.65 million homes, up 9% from 2011, and were the best since 2007 when they were 5 million.

Di's Real Estate Adventures

I'm excited to begin my new Journal. I have been investing for years but have not kept a journal where it may benefit others and also help me remember the fun real estate adventures I plan going on.

I have successfully done Lease Options, Managed my own rental properties, and even done some fix and flips. I am currently partnering with another local investor fixing up properties and selling them on the retail market.

Our market in Utah is going up and up. We didn't get hit like other markets, so it is becoming pretty aggressive. One of the homes we just finished we had on the market and had multiple offers within 4 days after listing it. We stand to make some good money with both them now.

Okay, so I typed my beginning journal, then at the bottom when to the page about "more information on formatting" and wouldn't you know it, I lost everything I typed. Urghh I hate when that happens.

Just Getting Out The Gate

Well, I am finally posting to the site after taking so long to get things going. My holidays for 2012 started with being introduced to Dean's Systems and being broke bought what could with what I had. Then my Father-in-law was diagnosed with lung cancer, then Christmas and through it all my own medical issues.

Well 2013 is going to be the year for me!!!
Got my business Account started today, already have the info to the accountant for last year, but still have so many questions.
