I am just starting out, trying to get a feel for this whole thing! I have never even went through the home buying experience! I am currently buying my home from my parents and didn't have any part in the process of purchasing it (real estate agent, bank, etc.) so I only have very general ideas of how it works. My family has been involved with rehabbing and rentals for many years so I am ok with that whole process: finding homes, tearing down & rebuilding, finding & screening rentals, etc. but have never been involved in the actual deals.
I plan to spend a LOT of time on this web site until I can make my first deal. I don't expect to be an instant real estate genius so I can foresee this site being a huge part of my life for a long time!
I welcome any advice anybody is willing to give!
Just as a side note, I am very impressed with the positive feel of this site and the willingness for total strangers to offer their help to each other!
Motivation!
"Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important thing I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life, because almost everything--all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure--these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart." - Steve Jobs
