OfflineWell, here I am! After seven weeks of devouring this site every single day for six to eighteen hours per day, I am finally starting my journal.
I never saw any of Dean's infomercials, but I did see the last five minutes of The Hansen Report when he was on as a guest. So I ordered the book. I was just ready. Of course, I had been "ready" many times before. Like so many of us, I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of "Get Rich Quick" deals and none of them ever worked. I have participated in dozens of the MLM deals and (sigh) am still dead broke.
But this was just a small investment, and I took the chance! What the heck! I could always learn a little more. I am admittedly, a self development addict! I know enough about MANY things to hold interesting conversations with just about anyone, but I am an expert on nothing.
But that is going to change! I am going to become an expert at REI! I had just gotten my RE license here in CA a few years ago when all heck broke loose and the market collapsed. I worked my tail off for six months or so without making a penny and when I was going to have to invest in more classes or let my license go, I had no more money to invest and let it go. My husband had recently died and I had to go back to work for money. Ugly thought...
When I got Dean's books, I knew enough about RE to see that this one could REALLY work. He gives us ALL the steps!
My three daughters are all grown and gone from home, so I have no distractions there. I do have a full time job, but whatever...
I devoured Dean's books and immediately got on this site, where I have been planted for weeks! I saw that Anita was in Southern CA and tried to contact her, but no luck. Then paydirt! On one of her websites I saw that she was having a probate workshop and signed up! I was SO excited! I made up an excuse to be off from work that night and my daughter got out of her plans so that she could go with me. The night before the workshop, I went back on Anita's site to copy the info and realized it was dated 2009! A year ago! Thank goodness, I didn't make the three hour round trip. But what a bummer!!!
But now a lucky break! I am having to have my knee replaced (well, that part's not so lucky) but I am on temporary disability leave with my job for at least three months! I actually am not planning on going back until after New Year's, but they don't know that yet. Should give me some good time to get things started with REI!
Like Carol said when she started, failure is not an option! It is what I must do! I am closing in on retirement and I have no retirement plan. My job is very physical and I cannot keep doing that! (explains the bum knee) and I cannot have my children having to help me pay my bills! I have been totally independent since the age of 16 and am not planning on that changing.
Today is my birthday! Both in real life and symbolically with my RE journal and my new life as a Real Estate Investor!
I am thrilled to be one of the new Graziosi Investor babies! (I did NOT say babes!) So here's to us and many years together sharing our highs and lows!

I see you slipped another note in there while I was posting.
My rehab is coming along wonderfully. Not even a limp now. I need to just work on building my stamina back up.

How did your atty deal work out so far ? Mine flopped . Said she'd set up our LLC and represent us but not to interested in the legals of the deals . Still working on her though . When one is up here where there is more LARGE wild life than people one has to find a convincing way if we want someone local . Onward !
Since you mentioned Jim , hope you don't mind a comment to him . Jim it hasn't stopped snowing here since the middle of November . I got numerous snow banks up to the old phone lines and power lines . Anybody got a way to check a place out in those conditions .

I haven't had the chance to contact the attys yet. I got the list and need to get in touch but the holidays and having a number of guests have really cramped my style.
I need to make a "To Do" list, so when I do get some time I can make the best use of it.
As far as the site we talked about that you cked out, I LOVE her book--great info if you decide to pursue that strategy, but, for me personally, if I were to invest in someone's course, it would be Dean's. That is why I am here, I am very much impressed with what I see of him and what he teaches. Yes, he makes money from things he offers to us, but he gives us way more, over and above what he has to. My opinion. For what it is worth.
I really feel for you being in all that snow! BRRRRR! (shiver, shiver) I cannot handle it! Stay warm!

This has been a very nice Christmas. Today was day #3 that we had to make the rounds visiting with family and friends, eating and gift exchanges. It is always nice to spend time and reflect, but now it is time to get back to business.
I sat down this afternoon and started a new "to do" list, so I will make better use of my time. I only have 1 1/2 months left on my medical leave from my job so I need to take full advantage of that. That is enough time to get a very good start if I really buckle down.
I really feel in my heart that 2011 is going to be a very good year for a lot of us. I have said here before that I am a firm believer in The Law of Attraction. All of our riches already exist in the ethers and if we "visualize" them and "know" that they are already ours, they will materialize. They will not "just appear" in our living room one day. We have to provide an "outlet" for them (the riches) to come through. And RE is our outlet.
Work it and they will come!
You MUST believe! Just like IndianaJoe says "Believe and Achieve!" It is true!
It is ours! Let's go get it!

Wow! This year is closing down! Incredible!
It has been a little quiet on everyone's journals for the last week , which is to be expected. I assume that the first of the year all heck will break loose as we all bolt out of the starting gate! EXCITING!!!
Wednesday I am moving some of my furniture out of my apt (my dining room table and chairs. I don't cook so what do I need them for?) and rearranging things so I can set up my office space here at home. It will make it so much more conducive for working in my house/apt. I am looking forward to that so much! Atmosphere makes such a difference! I have dug out my fax machine that I had in storage and my land line will be turned on Jan 3.
Tomorrow daughter #2 (the one visiting from NY) will be going to her LA office all day and will be taking my car, so I should be able to get some things accomplished here-composing letters to realtors, brochures for L/O sellers, etc.
Got a few things accomplished on my list this morning. Not a lot but some. Visiting daughter is going out w/friends tonight so I can do some more reading. I absolutely LOVE my reading time. Lucky for me because it is certainly a "must do" to learn this biz.

I got a new Blueberry phone so that I can be more productive when I go back to work. Our computers at work are blocked from internet access so I had internet added to my cell service. This for me is a very big deal! I still had a flip phone and didn't even know how to use the camera.
I am not a computer geek, but I can do most anything I want to do now on a computer, but I am back in kindergarten on my Blueberry. I can only get so much technical training in one day before my brain starts hurting! But it is coming along. My BBMs are set up and I got all my "ping" tones picked out and set. I am so proud...
I wanted to be able to take good pics of my RE projects, too. Gotta still learn that step.
It's great to be such a progressive woman! LOL!
