I don't have dreams anymore

I don't have dreams anymore

After reading that subject line, how many of you thought I gave up? That I lost hope, stopped caring, thought everything was futile?

Who put those thoughts into your head? Me or you? Who's perspective was reading that subject line? Who's future is in your hands?

So then, what happened to my dreams? Why don't I have them any more?
Because I changed my perspective on my life. I don't need dreams any more because I now have goals.

Which do you have? dreams or goals?
What's the difference? Dreams never change, goals do...after you achieve them. Then future goals are even higher, further up, way beyond what your original dreams could have ever hoped to be.
Don't you want to strive for that? Don't you want to experience that feeling of euphoria of attaining a goal? To experience it again in reaching your next goal?

Wayne Dyer once said:
"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."

Do you live in a friendly or hostile universe?
Which is it?
When you see the world in that way, that is exactly what you will create in your life.

Wayne's youtube clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urQPraeeY0w

Nobody is holding you back except you!
Stop with the negativity already, you're the only one that can allow it into your life. Stop pointing at others, stand in front of the mirror and then point to the true reason you're not succeeding.

What are your Goals?

I Got it!!!!

I read your headline in the "Active Forums" section and thought to myself " They are no longer dreams but goals and achievements." I got it!!!

We all go through changes in life and changing your mindset has to be one of them if you are to succeed in life. You thought one way as a child, one way as a teenager, one way as a young adult and one way as ( or when you become) an older adult. You've changed your mindset at each phase whether you realized it or not. You must do that again if you want to go from "Woe is me" to "Look what I achieved."
It can be done!

Just another perspective - - - -

Daydreaming utilizes your creative juices to come up with ideas which then creates "desire". A strong desire leads to decision making which then leads to a plan or planning. Then comes the goal setting and a breakdown of steps to take. One goal met leads to the next bigger goal.

It all begins with the seeds of the dream or daydream to get to an idea. To take the idea to a goal and complete it equals accomplishment. To acheive is to accomplish and I like that.

This is meant to compliment your posting Mark and not to deter from it. I want to Thank You Mark for making this post/thread.

We can never give up and you are right. The only obstacle in my way is ME. I sure wish I could fix ME.

GREAT post Mark

i love this qoute; "When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." really true Dean says it too. Everyone has a different mindset/reality. Your right on it! Lets not have "DREAMS" lets accomplish goals. The more you do the greater they get.

Goals not [just] Dreams

Mark,

You got me! I'm one of those helpers.... I read it as a cry for help.
But, you are right....

Goals, baby steps reached, giant leaps. They are all motivators, confidence builders and they are real.

While dreams may be fantasies, I like to have both. Dreams can be the fun part of the climb. But I like to believe in Santa Claus, too.

Dreams are like your head is in the clouds. Goals achieved are you standing on top of the cloud.

Thanks Mark!

Dreams

It's been said that a goal is the evolution of a dream. Most of us put them into 2 separate categories, when they are actually the same thing.
Great post!

Great post!

I understand your point about both being the same thing but most people tend to separate them.
As for me it makes more sense that they are separate; as goals are something you take action on to achieve while dreams are.... still dreams. Most people define them as dreams because they are unattainable, out of reach, etc. If you define it as a goal then it becomes a possibility, a reality, something tangible.

You can dream of traveling to Mars or you can make it a goal to travel to Mars.
Which requires action? Which will get you closer to your target?

I dream of being a rock star playing up on a stage, but it will never be a goal.
Why? because it's not a life I want to pursue. All I want to do is take over somebody's persona for one night and play to a sold-out arena. So that will always remain a dream. It's one of those situations where if you turn it into a goal, the end result will never equal what you saw in your dreams. Or better yet, it's not a goal because you only have so much room in your life to pursue a number of goals and some take higher priority than others.

Dream on! Eye-wink

Totally Fulfilled!

I'm in the middle of reading "Totally Fulfilled"...what an awesome book by Dean! Thank you Tammy for recommending that I read it! I was thinking about not going to a wholesaling seminar tomorrow morning and had all the excuses...too far to travel, not enough money, it's the Easter weekend, etc. but now after reading a few chapters I've decided to go! Smiling

Thanks Mark K. for starting this thread!

OK, Ya got me... sneaky one.

I fell for it for a minute, especially after the rash of "Downer" posts I've seen lately. My first thought was "Oh Dear, another one... how sad."

But Only for a minute! Laughing out loud My second thought was "Waitaminute..." *Look at the poster's name* "Of course he doesn't have dreams anymore, he's got REALITIES. He's achieved those dreams and realized them."

Very clever, turning that around on us! Laughing out loud

Love it

Thanks to Mark and everyone in that has posted here. Quoting many of my favorite gurus, like Wayne Dyer.

Time to examine those things I consider dreams and those I consider goals.

Thanks again Mark and everyone.
