Almost a year ago I began reading Dean’s books and finally joined the Success Academy a few weeks ago and am taking action! I am starting with bird dog/assigning contracts and my ultimate goal is to own enough of my own rental units (handled by property managers) to generate plenty of passive income to retire on. Already I have met many other helpful investors to work with in the Milwaukee area. And I am excited about adding more investors and retail buyers to my list, along with members of my power team! This site is also so helpful and I am learning tons from everyone.

Prior to reading Dean’s books, I had explored other methods of making money. I worked my way through college as a bank teller, inside salesperson, and marketing assistant. After receiving my Associate’s in Marketing and Bachelor’s in Business Administration I focused solely on working at my job as marketing coordinator. Much of the marketing I was doing involved event marketing which then led me to my next job of planning corporate meetings and incentives, where I managed all the logistical and financial aspects. I have grown from just planning to managing a specific client account, which means I’m now using my sales and marketing skills more again while building upon financial skills.

Still, just having a job never seemed to be enough and my ambitious nature took over shortly after my college studies ended. I love reading and devoured books about becoming financially independent by leveraging time and money. And they confirmed what I already suspected—the best way to do that is to own your business. So I was part of MLM businesses for awhile and learned a lot, but they didn’t seem to be the best fit. From my reading I knew real estate was one of the top things that made people successful. It made sense and it always piqued my interest, but I wasn’t sure how to go about starting. It was a bit scary and overwhelming, but after doing some more research, getting encouragement from some supportive friends, and taking action (the key thing!), things are starting to fall into place.
