My journey toward real estate has been rather indirect. My sophomore year of college, I took some real estate classes with the intent of becoming an agent. However, I didn't follow through because I decided to focus on my classes. I started working on my master's degree in biochemistry and taught as a grad assistant and as part-time faculty with a community college. I guess I would have continued on that path for a while, but budget cuts here in Cali prevented me from being hired back as faculty - it was a blessing in disguise. I wasn't really enjoying teaching.
I made the rather unexpected jump into insurance sales. I've always enjoyed having sales jobs (cutlery, makeup, etc.), but insurance has given me the opportunity to make a steady income.
In September 2013 my mom and I went to one of Dean's preview seminars, and things have been slowly building from there. We went to the 3-day class and the buying summit, and I am absolutely thrilled at the opportunity we have in real estate! At the summit, we got Dean's 30 Days to Real Estate Cash and I am absolutely loving the blue print!!
My goals are
-to do my first wholesale deal in the next 30 days
-to do at least 10 wholesale deals this year
-to earn enough money in the next 2-3 years to upgrade to a new home
-to be able to retire by the time I'm 40 IF I want to
-to be able to help my family and friends financially, especially to keep them healthy
