Used Car = Earnest Money
My state requires a consideration not earnest money. Consideration could be the service of marketing the property for a buyer within a certain period of time.
Or that consideration could be any item of value. A friend used a used car as consideration because the seller's daughter needed a car for college.
Check your state for local requirements. But you might be able to clean out your garage and get a free option payment!
