Jan I'm with you. I'm a newbie but I have studied and read the books. You should be able to do a deal with no money just from Dean's books let alone this site.

In this business you will be dealing with a lot of professional people, you need to check your spelling, sentence structure, punctuation Etc. Hey Greg,
If you really want to make money with real estate you're going to need to focus and study. this isn't a get rich quick deal nor is it something you're going to do without a lot of hard work to get you going. You should start by finishing your profile, you've been on this site for a long time and have no info on your profile. Next buy some of dean's books and start studying. It takes a lot of effort to get this business off the ground and only you can do that. These people will help you with pretty much any question you have but YOU have to put forth some effort in order for them to put the effort to help you. I know you can do it, Good Luck.

Though you all are very correct . Sandra . You put it in a manor, I believe, that we are supposed to . But all of you missed the point of asking Greg, when he returns, to provide an example of what the situation is that caused him to come here and ask . Jan, for some reason there is a number of people from back at that point in time that started showing up as of the first of this year.
Greg. Do the best you can of editing the original question, but include what it is you are working on or a case example you came up with . Such as a assignment/re-assignment or a L/O (whatever it is) and give detailed specifics. There is lots information lacking here . These people need to know the situation and numbers to be able to help you .
Pull an Elix move on this and say "Not trying to be the debbie downer" but if you would just read read read read read and read some more and yes don't be afraid to ask questions but at least have an idea of the situation and the problem it presents first. Yes I am a little new myself just like Shaun but we all have to take the time and research read and study before bringing a question like this to the "table". Please just do a little more research and you will have the answers you seek. And if I may add you have some of the BEST investors that have given you a nice little head start here.....and believe me you can take their words to heart they KNOW what they're talking about........all day everyday! So just take the time and do your research and you will be rewarded with great things in the long run......

When I read a post from someone asking for help, the first thing I do is read their bio and look at the forums that they have been involved in. As of late student bio's are incomplete with no info, so I usually stop right there.If a student like Greg has been signed up on this site for that length of time with no participation except the one post he wrote, I tend to get upset.
Look, this is the best site in the world to come and chat about your dreams and what you want to do in real estate, but after the ferry dust wears off, you have to go out into the real world of REI, get your feet wet, make some mistakes, learn from those mistakes and go on. There is so much great info here to help newer students that hand holding should only be for a short while. In Gregs case, he has been here since 9/14/09, with little to no participation....Jan
Sometimes I say things that are a little straight forward. My intentions are to actually upset the person enough that they either get mad and quit or get mad and do something. Either way is a step in the right direction.
Some of us long time DG'ers get tired of the lazy cry babies that ask for help in such a way that they totally reveal their lazy, self centerness.
Step on to the battle field and go to war. Kick, punch, bite and swing your sword with everything you've got. Attack this thing with the intention of winning. Then when you walk off the battlefield, bloody and beaten, come ask me a question. I will see it in your words that you will actually do something with the information I give you.

I just went to a seminar and bought Dean's Insider's Edge progra
I want to know if anyone has worked with the dean's staff and had his private financing on any deals, until they are sold. This is what I was told...Keith said they will finance you and they take a cut on a deal. of course it has to meet standards of a certain profit to be made, but how cool would it be to find these great deals to turn over and go to the banks, etc. when you negotiate and know the financing is there so you can make the killer deal.
Who has already done that? I am hoping someone in Florida has.

I can vouch for everything you have said. I didn't know the first thing about REI when I started. To be honest I didn't even know it was going on all around me everyday. I had a fellow DG.com member introduce me to my REI club and I took off from there. READ the book, re-read the book. Then re-read it again. Spent alot of time reading forums on DG.com and meeting with my mentor and learning how to crunch the numbers. It has been a little over two months now and I just made my first 10 offers today. I filled out my profile page first thing. I want people to take me seriously because I am taking REI seriously. When people on here see that I am making deals and become good at it, I hope to have investors with cash coming at me wanting to do deals with me because they know I will never bring them a bad deal. It is not really that hard if you have the drive and work ethic to put in the time and learn what you need to learn and then most important of all TAKE ACTION. I personally got tired of just learning and networking and everything. I will keep doing it and keep growing but I knew that if I want to start making money soon I need to start putting in offers.

You guys hit it on the head, if you have a different question, start your own thread. You will notice that the person that started this hasn't responded back. maybe they got the message?????? There's a lot to be learned on here but you have to move on and do your deals it's nobody's responsibilty but your own to get things accomplished. That last post isn't much better, they've been a member of this site since 11-09 and they are asking questions like that????? What's up with that??????

If you need to ask for help, that isn't the problem. But you want someone with knowledge and even the funds to help you, then you need to present yourself in a more professional manor.
I have noticed the short time I have been on these posts, several people just type away with a question and never proof read what they just wrote. But that tells people what kind of person you may be in a business deal.
If you don't care about how you present yourself at the small things, why would you be better at more important things.
You don't need a ton of knowledge to present yourself professionally.
You wouldn't want your banker, or your doctor to be sloppy about how they present themselves around you, or the help they offer, wouldn't that make you go somewhere else?
If you want serious help, do your research, and if you are not sure about it, or need some help with knowledge or finances, then come on and ask for help and present yourself as a serious investor. Then you will get the response you need and establish yourself as someone trustworthy for the help.

Most of the people on this site will give you the help you need but you have to do research first. Don't be lazy and post questions that a little research would have answered. Once you do your homework and you have a specific question then post it and you will get the help you need. But for God's sake man proof read what you are posting so it makes sense the 1st time someone reads it and you will find a much better response.
