Yippee!! My Husband's On Board!!

I found an agent that is willing to work with me, but there seems to be a tiny bit of friction between us for some reason so I am probably going to get a different agent. I can't really put my finger on the problem, but I can say that we don't really feel "comfortable" with each other I guess. Anyway, I feel fine talking to agents now, so it shouldn't be a problem finding another one to work with. We have a Remax close by and a Keller Williams office, so I'll be calling them tomorrow and speaking with the receptionists.

Great to see he's aboard with you, I also had a problem at first convinacing my wife that it was worth the effort to try. After I did my first no money deal she her decided it was for real. Bandit signs are my number one marketing tool, you want to place them in areas that have lots of traffic and interections that are busy,Marketing is key to this business, like mcdonalds, wal-mart ect. right now is a great time, Xmas season lots of people in the stores. so put signs out around the shopping malls, the phone will start ringing, next ask the realtor to gave you a list of expired listings for the past 90 days, these are properties that were list on the MLS service but did not sell, for one reason or another, you want to send these people a yellow letter, next answer the phone when it rings, also if bandit signs are illegal in your city put them out way its a stupid law dont worry it, then you might want to invest in a magic jack phone number, they are untrasalble, use that number on your bandit signs, they need to be 24" x 18" yellow plastic use wide tip sharpie marker black, hand write on them, I buy Houses- any condition-555-5555 good luck out there.....action+Knowledge=Success..$$$$.......Just do it...John

Thanks for all of the great info, John! Hey, I set up a Google Voice number, and I'm wondering if that's sufficient instead of a Magic Jack. I heard those numbers are untraceable also. Do you happen to know?

I've always heard if you do what you love for a living, you will never work a day again in your life. I'm not saying I think there will be no bumps in the road, and that it won't be tough at times, but I know in my heart it is all worth it, and I'm having a blast doing it!!

Google Voice has been cracking down on the amount of phone numbers you can get, buy "requiring" the number they give you to be assigned to that google number. When I first signed up for gvoice, you could get as many numbers as you wanted, and jump the phone number between the other numbers. Now, you can't do it. on it, you have the option to forward all calls to your forwarded number, or the "Do Not Disturb" feature takes the call directly to voicemail. Also, you can have gvoice alert you to new new voicemails / missed calls.

I haven't messed with Magic Jack too much, but so far the call quality is good, and you can leave it unhooked from the computer, only for the voicemails. The magic jack plus doesn't require the computer, only connection to your router & the wall plug. Either way, both are untraceable.

I was wondering if magic jack works for faxing. I have a fax machine but no land line and I've read conflicting things about that. Has anyone tried MJ with a fax machine?

Magic Jack works for faxing also, I use all the time, I dont have long distance on my phone line any more, and I fax items to the west coast and the east coast, with no issues, have DSL for internet service speed not the fastest but it gets the job done, I receive on my local line. Magic jack is untracable, perfit for bandit signing, my number comes up in a city I live 60 miles from. For $20 bucks a year you cant beat it, for a business line.

Many years ago I used e-Fax. No hardware needed. Everything took place in cyberspace. You could access your faxes on any PC as long as you knew your access information. They would also e-mail me when a fax came in. There were many other advantages too.

Some exciting stuff is happening for me today! I'm meeting with a cash buyer (who also happens to be a broker) for coffee this afternoon to discuss partnering on some deals! His son and I used to be business partners and he was really impressed with what we had going together (although it was un-related to Real Estate). I'm excited about our meeting and I have a really good feeling about the doors that are getting ready to open for me. He's been in the business for 20 years and he's done really well for himself.

Wish me luck everyone! I'm new at this and I'm nervous, but I'm taking action despite my fear. This guy is a great guy and I'm looking forward to partnering with him on my first deals and having a mutually beneficial relationship. I'm just as excited about the prospect of making money for him as I am about making money for myself.
