I'm Just getting familiar with this site and was just wandering if there were any DG members living around the southwestern Michigan area, particularly St.Joseph. I'm not quite used to talking online as of yet and I think it would be great to meet a fellow DG member personally. Thanx in advance for any feedback

I'm not from southwest Michigan but I am from southwest Ohio. While I can't meet you in person, I am always happy to answer any question you may have on this forum.

I actually didn't expect to see a response to this so quickly, Thanks. Like I sead, just getting to know the new (digital) terrain. I've been reading all I can on the subject of bird dogging, might you have any creative tips?
I ask this because the few people I've talked to about this seemed nervous about doing anything with me because I'm not established yet(as a business). I think I understand their view on this, in that there are so many people out there trying to con a buck out of everyone who'll fall for their tricks.

I've been doing it so long that I can smell the con a mile away. There are a number of people that can actually help you on this website because we've done it. So just read the stuff on this forum and learn everything you can, including things from other RE websites as it will give you a broader understanding of RE.
As far as birddogging, there are many directions you can go to find an investor that you can pair up with. We have a birddogging program, but our requirement is that you live in the city in which you are birddogging. While we are active in 10 states, we are currently experimenting with our revamped birddog program which is for Cincinnati people only. (However, you can see more at www.birddogprogram.com)
My best advice is to be honest on what you know and what you don't know. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Always be honest in your approach. And guard your integrity as you will never get it back if you lose it.

with someone on here, but I think it scared him away. I agree with Bill, and I also think you need to guard your integrity and what you tell others. You don't want them or anybody to take what you say the wrong way, or come across as pushy or should I say needy. This is speaking from personal experience.
Then again, you will come across some of the neatest people of the DG family that really do care and they want you to succeed. They show a lot of compassion, selflessness, and I am happy to be a part of this wonderful community of people even if I never get to meet them face to face. A lot of other programs out there can't offer that, or they cost an arm and a leg to join yet don't keep the promises they make.
With all of this said, welcome to the DG family!
Thanks, Bill for that inside look into your Locator program, can't wait 'till you can get it working in my neck of the woods. I don't think I was coming off as needy, just offering a possible option to someone I overheard, thaught mabe I could help. Anyway, lesson learned now it's time to move on and try again, from a different angle perhaps.
