I was reading on CNN and found a great map that shows your states unemployment, deficit, and foreclosures as a color heat map.
After hearing the news about certain states I was surprised to see it put into a color map. I had a lot of fun looking at this map.

in foreclosures my state is at 10.9%.... thats more than any other State.. Flordia has some work to do.... and so do I...
you never know until you find out...
Thanks for the link. I had seen this map before, but only for the unemployment section. From local news reports, I knew that New Mexico had not been hit as hard as the rest of the nation. Now I can see that we are in better shape than most of the states for Foreclosures as well as Deficit. It appears that executing Dean's strategies will take more work (understanding the market, planning, executing) in states that are generally "whiter" than the others.
Media hype reports of these categories in one area of the nation does not unequivocally translate to the rest, and I think this may be where our frustration in the lack of instant success may come from, especially when we hear of the great deals going on in the country. We need understand where these deals are being made and then make adjustments to our level of expectations.
In the long run this will make us better investors as the real estate market moves from one extreme to another; allowing us the opportunity to learn and implement more than one strategy.

thanks for the valuable information and that will be very helpful to all of us.

You can look at the map and glean a few things from the map. One that is quite noticable is the unemployment vs the foreclosures. You will notice in FL that the unemployment is similar to the foreclosures in the state. However, the state of Michigan has higher unemployment, in fact the highest in the state, but, the foreclosures are lower than those in FL. What does that tell you?
