Jill & Gary Finish Remodel #76

Jill & Gary Finish Remodel #76

We just finished Project #76; a 2 bed/2 bath/1 car Fannie Mae foreclosure that we bought for $ 36,350. Replaced kitchen cabinets, counters, appliances, vanities, toilets, paint & carpet. Have about $7,000 in materials; Had an Open House today, good turn out, even 3 real estate agents came to preview the property. It took 6 weeks for Jill & I to remodel this house. Selling it for $ 64,000.

Great job!

Hey guys,

Nice looking rehab! So you guys do all the work yourselves huh? You know how folks say they don't dance due to 2 left feet, well, I don't swing a hammer because I have 2 left hands. CONGRATS on #76! THANKS for sharing with us!

Thanks Jim, despite all these countless buy, fix & flips Jill & I are getting the sense that taking these dumps & transforming them into nice, comfortable homes is a waste of time, money & energy. It's getting harder & harder to find qualified end retail buyers, in fact it seems that any buyer is just wanting the cheapest house possible, they don't care what's been done, how nice it is or how much it costs. I could understand if we were over-pricing these properties, if they didn't "comp" out, but they are price in the same range as their counter-parts that are completely original & in need of updating roofs, a/c, kitchens & baths; not to mention paint & carpet.

R.C.talbot

Thanks Rick, they always turn out looking like that, usually it makes them a little easier to sell.

Thanks Jack, I owned a home heating oil company & was an oil burner & air conditioning technician for 27 years so plumbing & electrical are 2nd nature to me. My father was a carpenter, so growing up around it might have helped a little. Jill does our flooring, ceramic tile, vinyl tile/plank; along with dry wall spackle/texture, screening, painting & even plumbing. I can't get her to do electrical yet, if I can, then I can stay home & watch TV (lol).

foreclosure

Chase bank has been sued for a foreclosure but not in the way may people would
expect. The reason behind it is that they are being sued for an allegedly giving a Texas man a cardiac arrest after a foreclosure notices were sent to him. Get more details about Harry Engels.

Seriously ...

... if you don't pay your mortgage, it shouldn't be a surprise when the bank files!

Nice

That is a very nice finish, good job

jkb

Thanks Julie, after so many remodels they are becoming 2nd nature.
