Starbucks that cost $1800!

Starbucks that cost $1800!

Can you believe that someone would pay $1800 for a their Starbucks coffee? Is that someone you? It is if you buy a cup of the fufu coffee everyday! Thats true a venti white chocolate mocha will run you about $4.40 per cup. Take that number times everyday of the year (with tip) and you have nearly $2000 per year in coffee bills. What was that? Oh, you deserve a cup of the frothy stuff in the morning. Oh ok, just don't complain about being broke to me. Listen, I am not saying live like a hermit, I am saying that if you don't have any money and you live in the richest country in the world, then you will have to make some changes. We are here to help.

I get questions all the time about how to invest in real estate. People ask me because they want to make more money. But, I never ever, ever, get any questions about how to adjust their current finances so they don't have to live paycheck to paycheck!

WHY?!!!

Amen to that!

I think..

This topic needs to be brought back up. I think there might be a few people that join this site and buy Deans products because they see his infomercials and think they are going to be the next millionaire and have all the fame and cars and money and clothes that rich people have. This post by Matt is a good way to keep people humble and remember what REI is really about. Helping yourself and other people get out of bad situations. If you are in this to make the big bucks and live the lavish lifestyle then this business isn't for you. Yes you can make a lot of money from it but if you are just going to spend it all then you will never be the millionaire you want to be. I agree that no matter if you make $1000 a month or $50,000 a month. If you don't know how to manage your money and how to re-invest a portion of it. You will always be broke. There are people who have won millions playing the lottery and now they have nothing to show for it and are back to living paycheck to paycheck because they didn't invest their fortune wisely.

Matt

This is an awesome post, Lane thanks for bringing it back up an you are SPOT ON when you say that no matter how much you make if you don't know how to manage your money you will always be broke. I think I am one of the very few early twenty year olds that keeps a budget. I know where every penny is going every month!

latte factor?

sounds like a latte factor to me...
keep track of every penny you spend in a week, you'll be surprised by how much $ you could actually save to use it to invest in real estate Smiling

Some expensive coffee

Well I am glad I do not go to starbucks or any coffee place, I make my own here at home or get it at work for free the best kind to get. I count every cent I and my family spends and if it was not needed then I let them know about it too. In 3 months I managed to save over 1100 bucks which is needed to pay our house taxes at the end of the month.

I have two teenage kids in high school that are learning at the same time how to manage money also. They are learning at the right age so when they are out on their own then they can handle money as well. As for going to the movies and the like have not been to that place in six months. I buy the popcorn and drinks and watch movies on tv ppv for 4.95 a movie and can watch it as many times as we want for a day now let me see the movie theater beat that.

There are ways to save money and some people just have to find them out and use them. Great post matt glad to see you here again with something so good.
