DEAN I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT YOUR BOY JOEL OSTEEN WAS ALL ABOUT STAYING POSITIVE AND TRYING TO MAKE EVERY DAY FEEL LIKE A FRIDAY. IF ANYONE GETS THE CHANCE TO LOOK UP JOEL OSTEEN SERMON FROM LAST SUNDAY ITS VERY INSPERRATIONAL AND TRUST ME IM NOT A VERY RELIGOUS MAN ITS ALL ABOUT FEELING GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF NOT WALKING ON WATER.
Dean, What a great idea.
Dean,
What a great idea. Yesterday I listened to some Pink Floyd and went to the driving range and feel more relaxed than I have in a while. With all the stress and rushing around in today's world we sometimes forget about ourselves. I spent this morning on real estate and I am in a great mood - thanks again Dean
I did just that yesterday!
I took the pressure off yesterday and went to spend time with my new grandson. I have been shut off from my family to press in from all distractions to get this off the ground. It has taken me longer than I have hope it would, but I will still go forward with a better balance of time and family. I loved the time I spent with my family yesterday and the bonding is so important. What good is it if you gain the whole world and lose your soul! Money is nice, but don't let it rule you! Take care of your family, you only have one and you don't want to lose touch with them.
Good lesson Dean for us all!
God Bless You for all your support
Whew...
Dean, you hit it right on the money every time. Sometimes we have to take a break. We are not machines. Sure, there are some people out there cracking deals as I write this. But, I know how my brain functions. And doing RE 24/7 can be stressful sometimes. But, I still have my goal in mind. In fact I believe being successful is part of doing this. Taking breaks, meditating, visualizing. Sometimes doing this like a full time job will make me loose focus of what I use to love doing. Like hanging out, laughing, going out to a restaurant. Good stuff Dean. Can't wait for the next blog.
I Love This One
Hi Dean,
I love this challenge! Thanks for reminding me to take care of myself. I hope you're doing the same and feeling better
Warm regards,
Angie

After listening to this week's blog, I really thought about what I love to do. Well, for me, it is coaching kids. I was a pretty successful wrestling coach a few years ago taking my middle school team to a 24-1 record over two seasons. After getting out of that position, I felt something missing in my life. I realized how important that coaching is to me and the kids that I coach. Sooooo... I went online and applied for wrestling coach positions and I was offered a position as a coach in New Jersey. Feels great to be doing what I love again and being back on the mat. Thanks again, Dean for the great advice.

great idea
Dean,
Thanks for the great idea. Last week I went to my Mother's to care for her after she had some surgery done. I couldn't get to my emails and am now trying to get caught up with them. I really missed a lot while I was gone. I feel nervous all the time about getting a deal done. With finances so tight, it's hard to pay for the training. I am taking action and working on a buyers list. Taking some time off and doing something I enjoy sounds sooo good. When I'm not doing something to get closer to a deal I feel guilty. My husband is working so hard to pay for the training, I don't want to let him down. ALL of my previous business ideas haven't amounted to anything. This will be quite a challenge to relax while I am doing something I enjoy but I'll give it a whirl. I have constant headaches because of the stress and my heart is pounding all the time. Living on the edge sucks! It is so bad I'll have to try and remember what I even like to do. Isn't that crazy? BUT, I'm trying to smile and I keep putting one foot in front of the other. Thanks Dean, perfect timing.

Thanks Dean, You are inspiring as usual. I think that there should be more Leaders/Teachers,People in general teaching its Citizens to be more positive and less 'Neg' in life--seems lately that everyone onlys talks/focuses about the negatives''. I finished the first book and now starting the second, And I am currently working on the app'' for an LLC got my name for it and going to check if anyones else has it or not...

Thanks for everything!
Just a little thank you for reminding us(me) that you have to remember what makes us happy! It's ok to want to succeed, but they say all work and no play makes one a dull person! Bowling lanes here I come!
Thanks again!

Perfect - We have decided to get tickets to Cirque de Soleil - we haven't done it in years and always loved it.
The family time will be great!

Patty I think it is the Mom's and the Poppa's Called Turn, Turn, Turn I think that is the name.
Dean after 3 days of class my mind was overloaded. Yes, I needed a massage. I have told just my family and they gave me 4 homes that need help. Great deals but will be calling for help since this is our first time doing this. My husband and I are working together.
I cook and he works and we do real estate for the future.
You have a good program and people that hold your values I think and that is great.
Get over your cold. Let you know how the homes turn out.

make time for family
I'm trying to do both the SFL and the Academy. My time management isn't the best. One of your challenges. We as a family haven't done as much together as we should. Two kids in college, one in high school. Working a full time job and doing part time work and trying to do investing has not been easy. I still haven't done my first deal. But you are right, we need to re-energize, for me that's more than 4 hours of sleep. LOL! Thanks for your blogs, I do enjoy them.
Coincidence
Dean...I ordered your book in late August and have been receiving your emails since then. However, due to all the negative/daily grind things you speak about I haven't read any of them or visited the website to view your blogs, until now!
My kids had the week off from school due to in-service week for the teachers so I decided to take the week off to spend time with them. My thought was exactly the message you were giving in this weeks blog. These first two days have been great. I feel so good that I decided to spend some time and energy to start reading your book and the emails I have been receiving. To be honest I could not be more motivated then I am right now.
After putting my kids to bed I have sat in front of my computer for 3 hours reading every email and listening to every blog that you have sent over the last 2 and 1/2 months. I am hooked and can't wait to get started.
Keep the positive energy flowing!
Thanks
Dan
I hope you are feeling better!
Hi Dean, I hope you are feeling much better. The past couple of weeks I have missed your blogs, but you are so helpful and reasureing on all your blogs that I know I can get caught up and/or start over when I need to. Thank you especially for the last few blogs. They have shown me so much about myself, and how negative thoughts and people can affect me. I will definitely be doing your assignments this week. Thank you again for all you do for us.
Best wishes always.
Very sincerely,
Kathy L
A GOOD MOVIE
Me and my wife just stayed at home this weekend and watch some movies. It was great to take our mine off things. We start at 6am and run like crazy to 1am everyday. With my wife running ad and and taking calls and running around to meet buyer and following up with investors and me working my landscape business and then running home to change clothing to meet a seller , and sometime meeting my wife at pratice for our two boys football. We both take call 24/7 and emailing buyer and seller, and it has taken a toll on our personal time for ourselfs. We do enjoy it and like making the money but months go by fast. So when our kids wanted to sleep over at some friends it sound like a vacation/me-time for me and my wife so we stop at the red box and enjoyed 2 good movies. Oh we sleep in also the next morning. It felt like the best Saturday morning off I enjoyed waking up to in a long. time. We are taking a cruise Nov 13 to 18 th and it something we always wanted to do. It's been great in the realestate business for us and hope it would be good to you to. Ed / Tammy Matlock
A Time Out Sounds Good!!
I could not agree with you more Dean. Its easy for me to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and to forget the finer things in life. I always look forward to your blogs because your ideals always shine new light onto my day!. Always good down to Earth philosophy for all of us!
I have to get crack en after this break, this Real Estate Business is not going to run it's self. LOL
Thanks once again Dean

So True
I was feeling frantic and on edge. Things not going according to plan. Thanks for the message. I will take a deep breath and be still for a moment. Enough to refresh and revitalize. Great message.
Thanks Dean
You're absolutely right. I've been scrambling to make so much happen, it has become quite gray. To be honest I did really well in week 1 and 2 challenges. Then it did turn into think more, do more, more gotta, gotta, gotta. This weeks blog sounds so great to take a break. Thank you for giving me that permission to slow things down to get grounded again, and get back on track. Mahalo for this weeks FUN challenge for family, wife and myself. I appreciate you, and hope you shake your cold soon. God bless you.
Dean, Thank you for another great message!
Stop and smell the roses...thank you for the reinforcement! For fun, we meet friends @ the park a few times a week, do a movie @ home w/hurricane popcorn, pitch a tent in the backyard, spend several hours @ the beaching swimming and/or fishing...personally, I am motivated by getting as much work done but, gotta remember to "stop and smell the roses."
Hmmm...The Byrds or The Mamas and the Papas?
Thanks Warren and Carol! I will Google this and find out which band it is, or maybe both!
Thank you for the video blogs
Your blogs are so great but this week blog I couldn't do what was recommended. I just received bills from crc companies starting this mth, i am being charged w/ a high rate that I don't have any other promotions from other crc companies to transfer like I used to do. So just thinking about the interest rate I will pay each month is really killing me (that money should be for my kids' school)......... I am trying all my best with time available (beside mortgage job, the nail salon job (side job) & the time taking care of the kids) I have to take action on what I have learned in my past RE career, current mortgage job, and especially in the Seattle 3 days events, to make at least a quick cash deal so I can live in worry less and move on to the next level of RE investment and make up the good times that I miss now to my family w/ 4 young kids.
Dean, your blogs and your team, especially Keith big & mall, Matt, & Bob. You are all awsome with RE investing knowledge! I need to learn a lot from you all.

How to spend your mini breaks makes all the difference
Hey Dean and everyone else,
Periodic mini-breaks can always perk up your spirit and re-energize you to knowing what is truly important and improving your WHY you do what you do, it helps me to do this.
I have also spent time surrounding myself by listening to very helpful and motivating speakers, and Jeffery Combs is always helpful to me.
http://calls.goldenmastermind.com/ contains his archives of some of his calls. Download them and listen to them during your mini-breaks.
Topics include:
- 10/19/10 - Accountability
- 10/12/10 - Success Factor
- 10/5/10 - Psychology of Closing
- 9/28/10 - Science of Attraction
- 9/21/10 - Principles of Prosperity
- 9/14/10 - Process of Change
- 9/7/10 - Mastery of creating connections
Dean and all, hope each of you find this helpful too.

Blog 101 You're an inspiration!
Hi Dean:
For the longest time I have needed a break from my everyday life and just do something for me. Just last week I was thinking about going down to the lake I live near ( I'm about 1/4 mile away) and go fishing. To give you an idea why this is such an outragous idea, I am in the fishing lure business (for the past 22 years) and I moved to this great little area about 3 years ago after my divorce (she was a big negative in my life)that's close to 2 good fishing lakes. The kicker to this whole story is that I haven't had the time since I moved there to go fishing. And... I'm only making enough money to pay the bills and nothing more. (This was the reason I wanted to get into Real Estate in the first place.) I kept believing that success was just around the corner and kept going.
I did my last three blog assignments and came up with the following conclusion: The world could suck... if you let it suck. All my time is spent between making lures (because I have to), food shopping (because I have to), eating (because I have to) and sleeping (because I really should but should sleep more. 3-4 hours a night is not good.) I have no wasted time. I am a 1 man machine doing the work of 5 people. Add to this that I am now in the final stages of arranging the sale of my Mom's house in Miami, FL (190 miles from my house.) Now I have to arrange for the house to be emptied ( I was turned down today by the only estate sales company that returned my call) because my Mom has had to move to a facility out of state where my Sister cares for her. So to say I will be behind the 8 ball when I get back from Miami is an understatement!
So I have decided to do the following, I am selling my business (anyone want to buy a fishing lure business? ), Finishing up with Mom's house, take the girlfriend OUT for dinner and dedicate my time to Real Estate. Short of jumping off a bridge, it's the only thing that makes sense to me to do. My day off needs to wait until I get all this done.
Truth is, there is negativity at every corner I turn. I can 't keep doing what I am doing if I need to remove negativity from my life. It's a hard reality but one I need to swallow.
Thank you for helping push me over the hump that I have been teedering on for years.
Always looking up,
Andy Sager

Turn Turn Turn......
Thats the name of the song and it was recorded by the BYRDS
Words-adapted from The Bible, book of Ecclesiastes

What great memories this song brings back! Thanks!

"To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep......"
Thanks Denis!
Well, I confirmed what Denis found out. It was "The Byrds" hit, "Turn, Turn, Turn" in 1965.
thanks
