Welcome to the site. Good to see you are getting started in RE. If you are going to start anywhere this is truly the best place to be. If you don't already have Dean's books, that is the first thing I'd do is go buy them and read them from start to finish. Stay on this site, there is sooo much FREE knowledge here. Keep us posted on all of your progress and what you begin to accomplish. If you find any deals in new york, you can contact me and if we buy a house you find we will give you a finders fee. We invest in Herkimer/Utica/Rome area of ny.
How come you are looking for new york investors to invest near you??
You can find other investors in your local rei group and offer to birddog for them and find them homes, if they buy the homes you find them then they pay you a fee. You can also look to do assignment of contracts to start and build some money.

Hello Im an investor in NY but I have family in the south or the "dirty south" as they call it. My mom just actually rented out her house she owns in NC and if the price is right I know I could convince her to add another property to her portfolio. Besides now she has no home to relax when she visits North Carolina, and Im sure houses are much more cheaper than the home she owns in NY. Who knows if you can put your hands on a great deal I mean even invest in the south sooner than I thought I would.
Well I wish you much success with REI. If you want it you will get it, just like anything else it life. Sometimes its just a matter of Delayed Gratification.

hey whats up.... im also in nc. new to this real estate thing as well... Just getting started... i wish u the best. so far, i have the buyers list ready to go... got sum ads on craigslist... responded to some sellers to get a feel for things... got alot of positive responses. so far so good... no deals. i actually made my inquiry about a home today but got no response. i WILL be sending out a letter. lol. got 2 other owners in preforeclosure too... but got the AOL data line thingy. so i'll b sendn out 3 letters. didnt join any re clubs yet... tryna see if i can do it w/o em first. and i think i can. im now in the process of sending out the real estate emails to EVERY realtor in nc. its work but sumbody gotta do it....
