I love real estate and no matter what, my heart goes back to it. I believe life is about being happy and reaching your aspirations. We're not here simply to work, but to do something we love. I won't, nor can I let go of that belief.
I went to college for many things, but nothing has drawn me in, like real estate has. I want a slice of this pie so badly, and I know that I'm getting closer to having it. It's simply a transaction away.
I've had fears. Fear of failure and rejection. Fear of not being good enough. But I am b/c it's not about me, but who I'm able to help. I love people, so that's the easy part. I love math, so crunching numbers should come easily too. I love real estate, so it won't be work. So, what reason does fear have to show up? It's simple, it doesn't. It's simply not welcome any longer.
In 2009, I will embrace real estate for all it has to offer me. This is where I need to be and nothing has the power to stop me.
Thanks Takeya
I appreciate your kind and encouraging words very much. Your feedback means a lot to me, and I'm glad I can be helpful. I noticed you said that you struggled with some fear issues and rightfully so cause it's the number 1 reason most don't take the plunge into REI. But you have taken that leap, and the best part is that you have this amazing support cast of fellow investors here who cares about your success as much as their own. I love it when someone gets their first deal in the hopper cause I get that sense of accomplishment all over again as I read about their excitement. And I love it even more when I can play a part in that success.
I don't know if you had an opportunity to read Dean's book, BARM. If not in part 2 there's an excellent section on dealing with fears. I believe it's on eliminating fears. He lays out some wonderful ways of approaching and calling out your fears. At this juncture of my life I'm not afraid of failing, I'm afraid of living an unsuccessful life. Even with the little success that iv'e tasted that thought still consumes me---daily. So it serves as my motivation to keep me going. I guess we all have that burning desire to leave our mark in this world. I just want mine to be in concert with God's will for my life.
Well I'm glad you're are here, and I look forward to reading about your success. I like your attitude, "It's only a transaction away." You should make that your signature line; Success is only a transaction away. I like it because it's true!!! I'll leave you with this; "If you don't try you have already failed." I believe that is somewhere in Dean's book. Well, you don't have to worry about that. Congratulations on taking that giant step---I think you'll do just fine. If God is for us who can be against us.
I'll be praying for you,
Best wishes,
