I am all about real estate. Was licensed in Ohio in the mid 80's during a recession and interest rates were 18%. Still managed to reach my first million in sales within the first 9 months of being licensed (when the average price of a home was $70,000). You do what you are wired for and this is one of the reasons I was put on this earth.
When I relocated to North Carolina 5 years ago to get my broker's license the bottom fell out again just prior to applying for the State exam. Finances for upstart expenses and a roof over my head kept me out of the game so I got into another field, but I kept learning about real estate (it's a deep well) and there is always something new to learn.
Now, I am getting back into the game and starting my classes over again next week. Can't wait!!!
Guess I have already found a "good Realtor" (wink) and one who understands investing.
I am diversifying and other than REI's I am getting into internet marketing, probates, government grants for small and minority businesses, property preservation and tax liens. My Dad always taught me to have at least 5 streams of income and real estate is the best way to do that.
Next year I'll be relocating to Georgia where the interest rates go as high as 60% on your investments. Great way to build a retirement fund quickly and securely since the interest on the tax liens are guaranteed by the County (Government).
Just getting into the mix here with the DG family as I have been packing and moving to a new place for the past 3 weeks and it was a very trying move! I think you might compare it to "nightmare on elm street".
I am very excited about getting started; this is a whole new beginning for me. I am convinced that our wonderful and fearless leader - Dean, is the right choice. I love his enthusiasm for the industry and the encouragement and support he provides is the best bar none!!!
Lucky and Spoiled
Luck, to some, is like favor...and favor ain't fair. We should all be so lucky to have favor!
Spoiled is just another word for blessed. Those who think they aren't just don't know about this synonym. But no matter our status or position in life, we are all blessed if we are breathing - the rest is up to us.
Life is all about choices and decisions; what we choose to do with the hours we are allotted each day, each week is up to us.
Once we make the decision to be successful the choice has already been made.
There are always going to be naysayers, dream killers and negative folks among us. When they come knocking or somehow make it inside our lives to spread their noxious fumes, like carbon monoxide we should fan them out of our way.
Personally, I regard them as reminders of just how blessed and highly favored I truly am. Whether you realize it or not God wants us to live our lives so well that we are envied by others. Sounds like to me, Dean, you are doing all the right things so keep it up!
As long as people are willing to reveal their ignorance we should be bold enough to reveal our strength. There IS a place for those who call others lucky and spoiled and they are IN it by their own choice.
And, when we have what others wish for that just came to us by the grace of God we should be Oh, so happy!
What a compliment, heh?
