About Me:

I'm new to real estate investing. It's been my dream to invest in real estate since I was a little girl. My favorite games back then was Monopoly and Fortune Teller (a game made out of paper where you get to pick a number and a color to find out what type of properties you will own). I didn't know that it was possible for me to follow this dream until I became a Mortgage Loan Officer.

I'm from Cincinnati, Ohio. Moved to Georgia when I was 20 years old. I brokered loans for 6 years (Georgia) and in the process I met a few investors. This is where I learned that conventional banks would only finance no more than 5 loans for investment properties. This gave me the impression that my investing career would end after 5 mortgage loans. So I continued doing mortgage loans, until the predatory lending act was passed in 2003. I couldn't find any lenders that would finance loans in the state of Georgia. So I decided to get my series 3 license and become a Commodities Broker. This opportunity landed me in a few different states, finally settling in California. The money was great but, I didn't have freedom. I was working 12 to 14 hours a day, 6 days a week. I didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the things I could afford because I was working all the time.

5 years later I grew tired of not having a life. In September 2008, I decided I wanted to learn the taxi cab business. So I leased a cab from Yellow Cab and thought that I could drive when I wanted to. Wrong! It's a 24-7 job because the lease is so expensive. You have to work around the clock just to make over the lease. The best thing about driving for Yellow Cab was meeting another driver (Rick), the 2nd day on the job. He taught me everything my trainer didn't.

Rick and I would have lunch often and sometimes dinner (at the time we were dating and didn't quite realize it). I had to quit driving for a while because of a pinched nerve in my neck. In June 2010 we got married and 4 days after we got married Rick had a heart attack caused by diabetes and had to have quadruple bypass heart surgery. I had to go back to driving a cab a month after Rick's heart surgery. During this time our finances were a mess and we were not prepared for this. This became my reason why I needed to find a way to make real estate investing work. I became determined no matter what.

One night Rick and I were up late watching tv, he was flipping through the channels and we came across Dean's infomercial about his latest book " Your Town Your Real Estate Profits". We both felt that Dean was genuinely real about his book. Rick looked at me and said call and order the book. This is what you've always wanted to do (what a supportive & wonderful husband). I somehow became stupid and didn't order the book. I couldn't believe that I could get all the information about real estate investing for $20. I feared it was too good to be true. Well, it bugged me for days and I couldn't stop thinking about it and finally I decided to look up Dean's book online and then I purchased it. Second to my husband, this has been the next best decision I ever made. I'm looking forward to meeting, networking and finding a mentor who can help me achieve my goals and when I learn the ropes, I look forward to teaching others.

Hi Greg,

It's nice to meet you. I've been working on putting together my contracts. I was a little confused on which docs needed for assignment deals. I live in California and would love to do assignment deals in Nevada and Arizona. I'm a newbie and would love some help. Thank you
