I have chosen to invest in Chicago, IL (60628) and Baker, LA (70714). I like the idea of focusing on specific zipcodes and becoming an expert on those locales, developing long-term relationships and contacts in those communities.
I'm from Chicago, IL. I live in Redondo Beach, California. So, now there are two communities where I feel very much at home. I served as a contractor to the Department of Labor in October 2005 in Baker, LA on behalf of FEMA aiding hurricane victims of Katrina and I fell in love with the area.
Baker is 100 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico. It's a suburb of Baton Rouge, LA which is the capital of Louisiana and the home of Louisiana State University (LSU).
I knew then that I wanted to participate in some way in Baker, LA. It's a very special place.
So, I have three locations. California is expensive. I'm going to focus on Chicago and Baker for a while as I gear up my career.
