Hello DG Family,
My name is Victoria Diaz and I ordered BARM about two months ago. Ever since I read that book I have been trying to make my way into REI. I have learned so much through this site alone, I truly feel I am ready to jump into it. I just thought it would be great to document this journey to becoming a MILLIONAIRE!

Hi I'm a total newbie,
My name is Mike I'm from the New England area and i just bought Dean's book Be A Real Estate Millionaire. I just got to page 100 and i am going strong. Still a bit nervous about the unknown and getting started and all but I'm working through that. I know its going to be a lot of work, especially since I have only fair credit, no money and just got laid off but i think if i work hard at it (and get a job) i can do it. Any help or advice would be wonderful.

Hello everyone,

I guess I will start with some background about myself. My name is Lonnie and I am a disabled veteran (it was a back injury so able to function normally just can't do heavy lifting). Anyway, after my 8 yrs in the military, I went back to school and got dual degrees in finance and accounting, became an auditor with E&Y for 3 yrs, an auditor with a regional firm out here in Rockford, IL, and then got laid off recently.

A Journal, A Timid Step

Hi. I'm so new I'm already overwhelmed without having done anything yet. However, reading Rina's journal caused me to think - hey, I may not have done any "real work" yet, but the time I'm investing in learning how to do this does count for something!
So here I go:

Day 001 -
*I have read most of BARM my own way - which is all the chapters out of order, depending on my mood. Today I have started reading BARM the conventional way, which is from beginning to end. Still on chapter 2.

Well I have finished Dean's book BARM and have read about four others. I lucked out and saw about the last 20 minutes of his show about his new book. I have not read that one yet.

I am what you would say a part time investor. I have a full time job and that takes much of my time.

Feb 02~Called my realtor and got listing of 3 properties I was interested in.

Feb 03~Called realtor and made appt with her to look at properties Sat.

Feb 07~Got to look at two of the three properties as the 3rd one was still being cleaned and not ready for people to look at.

Hi,

Just spoke with an owner that he has been approved for a short sale. The seller tells me that the bank has apparised the home @ $525K and the bank has approved to short sale it for $449K. He says that he had a guy come down 2 weeks ago and this is what the bank agreed to. For whatever reason the guy walked from the deal.

Yesterday, I sent out 20 letters to homeowners in my town facing forclosure. I also posted an ad on craigslist as well.
I would like to talk to other members who are also part of Dean's Academy.
I placed a few ad's looking for investors as well.

I was a bit hesitate to do this but I think this will assist in keeping me accountable.

On 01/30/2009, I joined DG Success Academy (with some trepidation). I suppose the trepidation is putting my money where my 'heart' is. I must succeed in this and if I need the financial commitment to motivate me then so be it. I received my login info on 02/02/2009 and I have gone through the overview and the first course.

My pending action items are:

    1. registering a business - I will wait until I have done my first deal to pay for this

WOW ! This is one busy & thriving enterprise.
I could spend weeks just reading the postings.
I'm one of them 'FNG's (Funny New Guys !) and right now
suffering from 'information constipation'... y'know, that's when so much stuff is going into your brain that no more can fit and it just bounces off your forehead ! Yup.. Thats me.. all clogged up right now.
