What I found out as of late, it helps to stage a house even for a rental. Sometimes, houses are staged in order to sell, but rarely for a rental.
Well, I have staged few of my houses that I couldn't rent out and they were rented within a week. I guess it gives people ideas of what can go where and sort of paint a better picture. Also, you can use the paintings and furnitures to hide the unwanted spots.
I used old furniture of mine and bought few paintings at garage sale. Few things were sold with the rental agreement. People actually liked that stuff. I bought one painting for $20 and sold it for $22.

Thanks for the idea about staging. Sometimes it really helps prospective tenants to visualize the place as home. The quicker the unit gets rented the better the cash flow. Thanks for the tip. Good luck on all yoru deals. Believe and Achieve! - Joe

Thanks for the info. People sometimes need for you to paint the picture. Alot of the time homes are hard to rent or sale because like you said they can't visualize themselves being there. Sometimes there's too much stuff...........Lubertha

This is a very effective technique. Staging rentals is very creative. I recommend doing this with all types of deals that have become problems for others and like you it seems that this is always a last ditch idea! Why can't we figure out that this works and use it at the front of each deal? People by nature are typically not creative and can't picture themselves in a certain home, or place their items in that home. So they just need that little push that gets them over the edge.
Great post! Keep up the good work, thanks for sharing!

I agree that staging is a good idea. I have been in a few homes before and after they have been staged and you would not beleive the difference it mskes.
