Bandit Signs

The best time to place bandit signs it on Friday nights because most citys have a person that goes around and takes down all the bandit signs during the week. Put them out on Friday night and take them down on Sunday afternoons.

Question

I am ready to start my marketing process with my bandit signs, just got one questions how do you find out the rules/laws in your area....you do you contact?

Anyone have some insight?

You just have to

take the chance of getting them taken down. that is why I say put them up on friday afternoons and take them down on sunday evenings. There is usually a person that works for the city that goes around and takes them down during the week. If you post them on Friday night and go get them on Sunday there is less of a chance of them getting thrown away. Plus that is when the most people are out driving around anyway. Place them in the highest traffic areas and at the interstate exits. Also place flyers and business cards anywhere you can. You never know who has a house for sale or knows someone who does.

How to post signs

Okay so now after watching the video from I think his name is Ted, he suggest you hang the sign close to 14ft up, so if you do that how am I suppose to get them down?

We are planning to hit it this weekend.

Anybody got some suggestions?

OK

Search for your code enforcement office and search sign laws or sign requirements...

Getting them down is easier than putting them up...go to home depot and buy an 8 foot piece of 2x2 lumber ($1.97) Duck tape something to the end of it that looks like a huge butter knife ($2 home depot...just a short piece of flat metal) and use it between the sign and the pole to drop the sign to the ground.

Permit Dept

I called the city permit dept. near the area where I live. They told me bandit signs were not allowed. But I also remember years back, I put up some Folding A-Signs near my business during the week. A person from the city came by and told me that I had to take them down, so I did. I noticed that other businesses had them up during the weekend, so I followed suit and never got a follow up call from the city. The city planning & permit dept. is closed on the weekends and so are their employees Smiling.

Saturday 6am

I put them up early on Saturday morning-they're fresh and ready for everyone to see when they drive by on their way to their kids soccer games Smiling
I take them down Sunday evening... so far haven't had any problems.
