Facebook for networking

Facebook for networking

Using social media for networking is a great technique for finding Buyers and Sellers all over the country! Networking takes time no matter what resource you use. Find what works for you and use it. I've tried Facebook and Twitter. I've found that for me, I'm not on Twitter enough for it to really benefit me. That might change in the near future but for now, Facebook has been an easier source. I'm always surprised at how fast and almost instant the internet can be. I started a Facebook account for my RE business a few months ago. I add and/or accept friends here and there. Yesterday I realized that I had almost 300 contacts - ALL RE Investors and RE Professionals from all over the US and Canada! That's amazing! Of course, I don't know all of them. In fact, I think I only "know" less than 10 of those nearly 300 "friends". However, these are contacts that are in the same industry and share the same interests as I do. These are people that I have immediate access too.

One word of warning: Along with the good there is always the bad. When socializing and connecting online, use common sense. Be selective on who you accept to share your Facebook page with. Check them out first. Look at their profile and make sure they are in the RE Industry. Remember, this is your business and you don't need to "friend" or "add" everyone. BE SELECTIVE - Choose only those who will or could possibly be of benefit to your business.

We live in a technology age. Take advantage of these resources that are at your fingertips. These are great tools that will help you grow and build your business.

Happy Investing! Smiling

So how do you promote your Facebook page

Hi Karen, I just started a Facebook page a month ago, but don't really know how to utilize it to get to other investors. I update it with articles wekly, but don't know how to get my information out there.

I could use some advice on this.
Thank You
-Allison

Hi Allison!

There are alot of ways that you can promote your Facebook page. Start with these 3 things:

1. Add or join RE groups on Facebook.
2. Post and/or talk about your real estate business. What you are working on, offers you are making, deals that you are looking at or finding etc.
3. If you are active or commenting on other RE websites - reference your Facebook page. Give the link.

If you start with those 3 things, it will start to grow and take off!
