Looking for DGers in NE Wisconsin

Where exactly do you live in NE Wisc, Green Bay area?? And what REI are you in? I was just looking into Green Bay REA.

I live in Stephenson, Upper Peninsula of MI. Its about 1/2 hour from Menominee/Marinette (border of MI/WI).

Perhaps we can connect and bounce ideas off each other.

Sorry about the delay - been busy with my day job. We (my wife Vickie and I) are located in Two Rivers, about 35 miles SE of Green Bay on the big pond (Lake Michigan). We just joined Green Bay REA (I've been to one meeting my wife to two). Great experiences so far, Jacci the Club President has been a great resource. You definitely should consider joining. I see you've been a member for about a year - did you go through the Success Academy? Have you done many deals? If so what type of deals do you focus on? We just started our business in January and are in the academy, falling a little behind in the schedule but... I am going to bid on our first forclosure on Tuesday. Exciting yet nervous!!! We plan to flip it, but it needs a major cleaning (fumigating from heavy smokers)and some flooring and paint but is in an excellent neighborhood and should move fast. Look forward to your response

Its good to hear back from you, no problem with the delay. I've been quite busy lately as well. I too just started the academy, about 2 or 3 weeks ago and have completely fallen off track after leaving town due to some family issues.

Anyway, I am working with a friend, who happens to know the area a lot better than me and has a bunch more contacts. Im about to put in an offer on a foreclosure that we plan on moving in and fixing up during the summer and then either selling it or renting it out for a while.

I am financially limited, with fair credit, but jobless... Hopefully I can find some deals using creative financing.

How is the program working for you? I was hoping it would be a 1-on-1 type situation where I would have 1 coach and be accountable to him. Instead I just have to call in at random times to keep me focused.

I hear you on the academy - not much contact either. I hope all works out well for your on the forclosure. I was all set to bid on a condo unit today but it was cancelled yesterday. We'll have to regroup. I emailed Jacci (Green Bay REA) about your interest. She said someone from the UP contacted her a couple of weeks ago - was that you? You should consider joining, networking is where its at! Have you submitted any ghost ads, established a buyesr list etc? That's what we need to do next - we'll see what that brings. Just ordered a buch of business cards etc. We set up a web site (free from DG) and all, ready to list, unfortunately nothing to list yet. Fortunately for us, we are doing this to supplement my retirement (will be retiring from the fire service in July). That said, we don't have the time right now to hit the academy very hard, but we are consistent with about a lesson per week. Its nice to establish the one on one with someone in the academy. Hope to continue dialouge with you and keep up withe each others progress.

Sorry to hear about the condo, keep pushing forward. Yes that was me who contacted her a few weeks ago. I asked her if people from the U.P. attended or if investors ever showed interest towards michigan. But perhaps I will get to a meeting in the near future to network and whatnot.

As for ghost ads, I have not started any yet. I have a small buyers list at the moment, two people who are asking me to act as a bird-dog. I also have 3 college students that need a house to rent for a year or two. Its a slow process but I'll keep working at it.

What is your own DG website all about? Is it free for all members?

I agree its nice to bounce ideas & progress back and forth.

Do you happen to know of any Real Estate Attorney's in GB area?? I have a few properties I am looking to wholesale, but Im having a hard time finding a title company or RE attorney that knows how to do a assignment contract or double closing. I have been calling all around the UP and no luck, and I know you have been attending that REI club in GB.

Hope all is well. I am still looking for that first deal.
