What drives you?

Maintain a roof over my head and make sure my kid has food in his belly

.....and to be able to watch NFL on sundays without my wife complaining about the bills not getting paid

I've been putting my REI study time at pregame and halftimes. I need this bad, but I can't let go of my Sunday football games. Let's go Big Blue!!!

I have to make this work. I want to marry my girlfriend but don't want to until I know I'm in a lot better of a situation financially.

Continue to fight the good fight and make money doing it.

Throw your TV away and get to work!

@Travisderod I need some down time and Football is my get away. I have cut down a lot on TV. It was my biggest distraction and never plan on it being that again. I'm getting it done.

That's great! I also did the same. I challenged myself to watch no TV for a whole week and then it transformed into a month. I also did the same with FACEBOOK. I temporarily closed my account to see how long I could go with out it and I did great. I found some other things to do instead of it. I started reading inspirational and motivational books and listening to audio-books. The reason WHY I'm doing real estate investing, is that I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. I rather create work than work for someone or try working harder when we can simply work smarter. But, I'm doing this for the next generation. That's my WHY.

Tell me did you find yourself seperating yourself from certain people, so that you would be in the correct mindset.

@travisderod Feels great leaving TV and the NEWS alone. No more negativity, its terrible. Wanted to also say I'm reading "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to be an entrepreneur. Amazing book.

@hamiltontrina43 Absolutely.. The only way to get ahead in life is to be around those who are going in the same direction as you. I'm big on quotes, here's few:

"Birds of the same feather, flock together."

"If your the smartest one in your group, you need a new group."

Found out something else this past week. Do you know that statistics show that you make close to $3,000 of what your closest friends make. That says something.

One of my favorite quotes is by Bishop T.D. Jakes, "In order to aspire in life, you need to conspire, with those who inspire you, to aspire."

Good stuff. A few weeks ago I made a group for personal development. If you don't mind can you post a few books that you read, or maybe some training that you have in there?

I'm doing it for me, I've turned off the TV also, read and continue to make phone calls and marketing. Always thinking about and doing something everyday to market myself, and guess what it works every day I get at lease one phone call if not more, so its starting to pay off, soon I'll be closing my first no money down deal, I'm one day closer to that also. Action + knowlegde = success.....

@travisderod You got it. One of my biggest lessons that I learned is that people spend the least amount of money on their own personal development. I'm heading to your thread right now.

@Investdesmoines Take it one day at a time. I'm still working on getting my first deal done. I need to get it done. I know you will too.
