Well here is my first journal entry. I've been busy getting started and I don't get much computer time to play with blogs and so forth....they're a bit intimidating to this stay at home mom. My husband and I purchased Dean's books on Christmas eve 2009. Read through both of them and then decided to join the success academy. What an exciting gift we purchased for each other! We've struggled our entire married life financially and "tried" many different "opportunities" along the way....I'm so glad we never stopped looking....We've found what we have always been searching for! We are done surviving! Get ready family for our new life!
I've located a local investor/buyer and a real estate agent and started going through listings. Finding out that most of what's out there in our area are REO's, short sales, foreclosures,etc. Originally wanted to do assingments....finding out that's not possible with these. Read about one DG family member using his "buyers" money to do the deal. Going back to the training lessons to see if I can find anymore info on how to do that one. If anyone has any insight on this I would love the info and the help.
I love reading how our DG Family members are so generous and helpful...I'll do my best to keep you all informed on how we're doing. Keep watching for our first deal.....I know I'll do it soon! My first personal goal is to do my first deal before we leave for the 2010 EDGE event! My biggest personal goal to be the person helping others instead of always having to ask for help!

Its nice to see another stay at home mom here! I'm at about the same place you are in my journey. I look forward to watching your progress and helping one another out! Its especially nice seeing another one on here doing this with kids in tow! Welcome to the DG family!
You may want to try looking for FSBO (For sale by owner) listings, or driving through neighborhoods and looking for homes that have occupants, but obviously they aren't taking good care of the property. There are ways around the REOs as well, I am just learning them myself, but I know that I've heard stories. Maybe someone more senior than I am can give some insight.

thanks. it's been really good for me to write my journal and read other journals. right now i am working on my buyers list assignments and i have some good ideas on it. can't wait to hear more about your adventure.
