Hello Rick,welcome to the DG family. It sounds like you have some experience which will put you ahead of the game from the start. With Deans strategies you can take it as far as your willing to go with it. There is tons of info here in the forums,so I will suggest you browse through it and take notes.

I’m a newbie to the site, as well as a newbie to REI.

The information you will find in Dean's books, website and the forums are the real deal. I have purchased so called real estate guru's courses in the past and got some good information. Unfortunately I got more outdate and in some cases illegal strategies for where I lived at the time.

This is the first time I have purchased information from a TV show went on the website and actually talked to and ask questions from the people I was seeing on the success stories.

As a new member to the DG family it was very cool to see what Dean's students put together for Dean's birthday on 11/20/09. They came up with the idea of the "Pay it forward program". What some of them did was contribute there own money to put someone through the success academy. Dean however expanded on that. Long story short there is a great community of people here who really do care about others and want to help them succeed. I'm excited to be a part of it and hope to be a contributor myself in the near future.

Just got off the phone this afternoon to sign up for Dean's Success Academy. Ironically, I'm interviewing them as much as they are me

Another phone interview will take place tomorrow evening, which should allow me to see just how much they will help, and what they want in return.

It is an exciting prospect to consider as I had gone through a similar program almost a decade ago. Although it was helpful and I learned a lot, many of the strategies did not work; as such, I have some reservations about Dean's program.

I'll let you know more as I find out.

Decided to try there program and see how it works.
$1.99 for 1st month then $40 a month after that. This can get a bit pricey if it can't produce results.

Nevertheless, I've located a number of potential addresses to follow-up on. Guess I'll be looking at properties today.

Now where do I find the money...anyone...anyone?

My REA keeps on sending me Forclosure List for free. Everyday, he updates my list on new foreclosures and new prices from old listings. Maybe if you happen to have REA right now, i'm sure he has listings and you can save some money. LA

Starting the proverbial ball moving.

I've contacted several realtors who are sending properties for sale on the market and one who is looking specifically for distressed/forclosed or any other type or property that may be profitable.

Also too. I took the plunge and am now a student of Dean's Real Estate Success Academy. I start my first session @ 1pm EST. needless to say, I'm a bit excited!!!!!!!

From my phone discussion through the academy, and reading other posts on the net, I'm believing that the buyers list is almost more important than the seller's list; and it makes since too. With that, here are a few places I will begin looking for buyers.
1) Adds saying "I buy Houses"
2) REI Clubs
3) Absentee Owners
4) Contractors & Builders
5) For Rent adds (believe it or not)

Trick here is to KEEP updating this list weekly!

Then it is about locating motivated sellers. Two questions to know:
1) Would you sell for what is owed on it? (Assuming there not top heavy)
2) Would you let me buy by taking over payments?

Now to create a questionaire for myself to ask them...
