Greg Rowe's REI Journal

Greg Rowe's REI Journal

Hi,

Well this is day 1 of my journal. Don't have much to say except I have been so excited ever since I got Dean's book in the mail last week. Read it from cover to cover in like 2 days and want to read it again so bad. Can't wait to get the ball rolling on this!

Thanks Joe

Joe,

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have been visiting this site non stop all week and am becoming addicted to all the inspirational words that everyone has to offer. Me and my wife went looking around a few neighborhoods for sale signs today. Found 2 open houses and stopped by. If felt so good to look at the houses through the eyes of an investor not just someone looking to buy. I found my self asking the agent that was showing the house questions like "how long has the house been on the market?", and "Do the sellers already have another house lined up?" I felt like a true investor. I have gained so much knowledge and motivation in the past couple of weeks that I know 110% that I can do this. Still getting everything in order and gaining knowledge but I know that first deal is right around the corner. Thanks again!

REI Clubs

Well yesterday I did some searching on this site and ran a google search for any REI Clubs in my area I could attend and start networking. Unfortunately they all meet durring the week and I work in the evenings so I can't attend. If anyone reads this and can give me any references to investors in the Sacramento area it would be much appreciated. Or if anyone knows of other ideas on how to find investors so I can get out there and make it happen I would love some advice. I guess I will probably go onto craigslist and other sites like that and start reaching out. Only other way I know. Wish me luck!

Greg,

Glad to hear things are moving along for you. You may be able to find other investors by talking to tope real estate agents in the area, mortgage brokers, property management companies, insurance brokers, etc. Most of these people should know the investors in the area and can point you in the right direction. Also, if you can even call some investors in your area by the "For Rent" signs. Good luck and keep up the good work. Believe and Achieve! Smiling - Joe

Thanks!

Thank you both for the motiation and the advice. I really appreciate it.

What I did today

Just thought I would keep building the habbit of documenting my journey as a new real estate investor. Today I reread some chapters in Dean's book and I wrote up the letters the Matt Larson exampled for finding a great real esatate agent and mortgage broker. I research many RE offices and MB offices in my area and plan on faxing them all with the letter. I also created an account on Craigslist and am planning on running a few adds for buyers and sellers. I worked a little on creating a format for my buyers list. If anyone reads this and has a great format for a buyers list or how to maintain it, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hey Greg!!

Sounds like you definately got the ball rolling Greg! Congratulations for already taking action... Like Todd said, just keep it up and you will definately persevere (sp?) lol

I think writing the journal is also a great thing and definately helps keep you on top of things, or at least involved. It does help to keep each other accountable as well like Todd said, so definately check out our journals and I'm sure we will definately keep up with yours as well!

I wish you the best in your REI dreams!! Oh, and I like to hear that your wife was sharing in your dreams to be a RE mogul. I'm working on mine, but it might take a deal or two first to get her motivated!! Smiling lol

Take care and God Bless!

Monday

Well it was a really busy week and weekend. Had a tournament in San Francisco this weekend and it went well. There was a lot of work preparing for it which didn't allow me much time to work on any real estate investing. This week I will put some ads on Craigslist and check out some other similar sites. I will also call some rent ads to see if anyone is selling. Might have my firt rei club meeting next week (hopefully). Will let you know how it goes.

I love this site

Since I got Dean's book and first came to this site I have become addicted. I learn something new and exciting every single time I visit this site! I also love how motivating everyone is. This site keeps me going. Thanks Dean!
