rei clubs and naysayers

i live in racine wi and i tried joining an rei club but their are none in this area. So i called a realty office and they told me to join a landlords association who are property managers and investors themselves. It costs me 225 a year but i thought it was worth it because i can network with other investors to help me complete my first deal and they discuss creative fiancing. So i met the leader or president of this group and i was ethusiatic to meet and talk to him about real estate. I told him if he is familiar with dean graziosi and he goes yeah and said that guy has never invested his whole life and that he just sells books. I was kind of angry because i kind of knew that would be his reaction. Should i continue with this group to help me complete my first deal or should i pursue someoneelse. I dont ever have the naysayersa or dream stealers put me down. I will always stick with dean and his techniques. Any advice, please help thanks adam

Do what you feel most comfortable doing!

Most all REIC have someone they follow who has sold books etc... so you can benefit from their contacts that show up at the club, sure use it and meet some seasoned investors that you can put on your cash buyers list after all you paid the membership fee!
