Disabled Vet needs help buying a home

My name is Jamey and I am a disabled veteran. I have purchased and read Dean books, Be a real estate millionaire and Profit from real estate right now, there is tons of great information within these books yet, my girlfriend and I would like to make our first real state deal to be the purchase of our own home. Here's where our problem lies, we purchased a home in rural Princeton, Minnesota using a conventional loan, the house cost was above our means in 2005 ($250,00.00) and the monthly payments were just under $2,000 a month. We both become unemployed, used our credit cards to the max and were unable to find work, we lost the house to foreclosure and defaulted on the credit cards unable to make any payments on them. Our credit is currently not good and I am unable to qualify for a VA loan. I have been currently working the same job now for over 3 years with a monthly take home of around $2,000 and my VA disability is $600.00. I have very little in saving and my girlfriend has been out of work for over 2 years. Is there any one out there that could help us purchase a home, we are looking for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage 1/2 acre or more within commuting distance to the twin cities, Minnesota. Any help would be dearly appreciated.

Thank you Jamey

Look into fsbo, ask if they would owner finance or L/O for 24-48 months. Meanwhile continue to repair your credit.
