There are real estate investment clubs in every state. If you have access to great investment Realtors you can ask them for advice. Many investors that you run into can also tell you where they are located. Keep in mind that most investment clubs will charge a fee. Many fees are to cover the paperwork, CD and other information that you will recieve. Join one and you will never regret it.

Hi everyone. I'm located in Covington, GA. I bought & read "Be A Real Estate Millionaire". I also bought & went through the "Think A Little Different" kit, and I'm bombarded with information at present! Anyone know of any investment clubs in the greater Atlanta area I could check out? I'm looking to do some finders fee/assignment/bird-dog deals with investors. I appreciate any help! Let's go!!
I went to a REI club last week, I was so nervous. I asked if I could sit in as a visitor - not a problem. So, you can get a sense of what it is all about before you pay the fee. (I still didn't pay the fee, I will at the next meeting unless I find another club that I like better in the meantime). I googled REI clubs in my area, it took a few tries but I did find one close to my house.
I got a couple of cards, one of which is now on my buyers list.

Thanks a lot for the info! Are you here in GA? If so, what club did you attend?
Actually I am in NY. So, it was local to me.
Also, I actually put an ad on Craig's List "Looking for a REI club" I got replies to that but just not close enough to me but I may try those another time.
I just googled my area and found a couple clubs. I'm gonna post an ad on craigslist too. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks again for all your help!
This is a good site to find groups and meetings in your area for REI or anything else. Type your zip code and they will come up based on distance. I have found several in Boston area this way. I'll be going to my first one tonight.

Thanks for your help!
I found a list of clubs through Yahoo. I just typed in "REI clubs in Southern Calif" (which is where I am located), and found several. I then narrowed down my choices and signed up for various club newsletters online (free). I've attended a few meetings, each had a speaker who provided valuable information, not to mention the networking you can do. Be sure to bring your business cards and collect others as well. I make an effort to shoot off an email to all of the people whose business cards I've have recieved, letting them know that I enjoyed meeting them etc. I keep track of the info on the bus. cards according to specialties. For example, if one individual has wholesaling and another has buyer or rehabber, I file them accordingly. This is one way to begin to build your lists (i.e., buyer list, wholesaler list, rehabber list).
Although as reported in an earlier post, most clubs do have fees to join, they typically charge a nonimal fee ($10 or $20) per meeting if you are just visiting. As long as you only visit a few times, the fee is worth it, otherwise, I'd advise you to join for the year. Visiting first allows you to find a club that is the right fit for you.
I remember my first REI meeting. I was nervous and felt as if I had newbie written all over me....of course that's silly......it was only written on my back. ha!
Good luck and enjoy.

Hey, thanks a lot for your info. I've found a couple clubs and I plan to attend one of them next monday. Got my "newbie" sign for my back already! As well as my business cards. Hoping for a very informative & productive day that day. Thanks again. Good luck out there in So. Cal. Who knows? Maybe one day, our paths will cross...

I appreciate the link. In fact, I just got off creonline reading some of the new success stories. I'll check it out. Thanks again!
I hesitated giving the website because they are a competitor to Dean but realize that real estate is real estate and if it helps great. Continue learning and growing and enjoy the experience.
