I'm no historian, in fact it would not be just or correct that I attempt to teach anything of our country, but I AM a citizen of this great Country and we ARE free to choose!
In celebration of our Country's birthday I read the Declaration of Independence. I'm not sure what our Founding Fathers would say to us today, but these words are for us to live by, not just as States, but as individuals:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
In gratitude to the 56 dedicated men who gave us these freedoms, we have not only the right, but we have a responsibility to them to exercise those rights. If not today, then when?
Declare your Independence from whatever, whomever is holding you back from the truth of who you are, who you intend to be, who you choose to be. If it is you, then stand up and take hold of yourself. If it another person, declare and pursue your choice. If circumstances, then take the knowledge you have, find out what you do not know, but take action here and now. There will be no right time, there will be no better time, there is no need to know more before you begin because by beginning you will be free!

PS I did learn something; the first Independence Day was celebrated on July 8th. In 1941, Congress declared 4th of July a federal legal holiday. It is one of the few federal holidays that has not been moved to the nearest Friday or Monday.

You know, my heart aches whenever I talk to my mom and she is working so hard. I thank the gods and my lucky stars every minute of every day that the people most precious to me in this life are healthy and as a family we have such unflagging love. But still. I grew up working so hard because that is all my mom has ever known. She's been working non stop since she was taken out of the fifth grade to work as one of nine children, immigrants from Italy moved to Libya by Mussolini. She is 74 now and works everyday. She says it keeps her healthy! But since I was a young girl I only wanted to help her NOT work. Then life, marriages, children came and all I wanted to do was make their lives better, easier AND provide for my mom to finally stop sewing. She has sewn so long she literally has no fingerprints left!
We're happy and have lots of love; I am so so so thankful. And now, finally beyond my manufacturing businesses, beyond working as a service provider, now I finally am making headway to be able to urge mom to stop. And to urge my husband to go fishing, and to engage my children in RE to buy time and life and freedom for themselves, and then I can really teach and help others.
What a truly fine country we have. Thank God for our freedoms, our ability to make choices and to Dean for showing us the way.
I'm proud to be an American and to be a DG Family member!

If we stop and think of our state of affairs, we could get easily discouraged. Oh my! Prayers, dreams and good 'old American fortitude must keep us going, and faith in our youth. They are getting smarter and smarter, and I believe they will get beyond the greed that has persisted in the past several decades and be scared to lose what those before have built.
Hope.
And, changing lives one house at a time in Real Estate. Providing jobs, earnings, profit, know how and reasonable shelter.

words. I think you're right too---people need to get on the ball and start
