Need some help on a particular Foreclosure question in MN

Am I able to purchase a foreclosed home from the homeowner in MN after the sheriff sale (mortgage foreclosure), during the 6 month redemption?

Purchasing a Home in Redemption

Yes, the original property owner can sell you the property during the redemption period. The purchase price will have to be at least the amount bid at the sheriff's sale plus interest. Anything over this amount is given back to the property owner.

There is one catch, however, the redemption period can be shortened to 5 weeks if a judge determines that the property has been “abandoned” and is no longer occupied or maintained.
