Boarded Up House

Boarded Up House

I have a seller who has called from one of my bandit signs. The property they want to sell is boarded up.

What is the best way to approach getting into the property to assess the repair cost?

It's a great tool to use to help analyze your deals (and did I mention it's FREE)! But, you really should spend the $97 and get the full premium edition! IT'S AWESOME!!

Usually, we just schedule an appt to go over and look at the home with a contractor. Although its boarded, the front or back door usually is not. Also have your realtor pull comps. Worse case scenario, you could have it appraised. Hope this helps!

In addition

to what Ms indy said, when you meet them the first question you should ask them is "what do you want to net???"

That way you'll know if its worth your time to pursue.

Good luck.

In addition

In addition to Lenee and Elix's comments I would just ask "Hey, how and when can I get in and take a look at the property? I have to see it before I know what I can offer"

don't forget...

Stephan,

many times, boarded houses will not have any utilities turned on, so make sure you take a good flashlight (with new batteries) with you-preferable the kind that has a strap that you can wear on your head, so that your hands will be free to write notes, etc. Eye-wink
