A real estate investor will often have professional expertise that can be "traded" in lieu of down payment funds. Contractors, painters, landscapers, health-care professionals, lawyers, realtors, insurance agents, car dealers, merchants - all of these can provide valuable services or discounts that could be used in place of down payments. The potential list is not restricted to professional consideration either, sometimes a supply of plain elbow grease can help swing a deal in the absence of funds.

Down payments need not be in the form of cash. We have already seen how professional services can be used in lieu of cash. The same is true of personal real estate property that the real estate investor might offer the seller to satisfy down payment needs. Cars, boats, furniture, art, clothing, musical instruments and anything acceptable to the seller might be used. We have even heard of pets such as rare monkeys or valuable cats being used as down payments. One real estate investor in San Diego acquired a luxurious new home by using gems, diamonds, rubies, and emeralds as the down payment. Anything goes if it satisfies the seller's needs.

Build assets
It is basically all good, when it comes down to who we are.
Exchanging services would be a win win win for everybody.
I want to say (time's are tough)---Then again!!!
You just have to think outside the "BOX". When i read BARM,I
realized more important than real estate, I could use part one
of the book to change my whole way of thinging. And --yes--
Have a really good chance at making some funds available thru
real estate , in the second part of the book.
I can do it, I will never fall down, I will walk-run-fly!
IN everything i do,I will do it with respect. (Try buying that
on the corner)
P.S. you can be who ever you want to be, I just want everybody
too WIN.

In case you did not know, tax preparers cannot barter and exchange services. Anotherwords, you give them a discount and they in return do tax work for you or they do your real estate agency taxes in return for a lower commission rate. According to IRS guidelines, it is against the law for them to do that.
Lora,
There is no mention of tax favors in this forum topic.

There is nothing wrong with a person helping another person i know what i know and they know what they know.I remember reading about finding someone's magic button,It's not about what they want----Moreover what they need!
And that list is endless without any monetary ramification. It can be so simple as to just have a little compassion for a individual you have no idea what could be going on in there life. There love and there pain!!!
Maybe just cause you took the time and go out of your way to spend time with that person you understand why you have been given life.
Bottom line the individual needed just for somebody to care (priceless)
