You can always go to your county office, where you live in,out there in New York, and ask for the listings and they will hook-you up with it, and will also be able to tell you when they go on public sale, Tax sales and liens are all different in different states like here in California where I reside, in my county, they go on sale every February of every year, so I'm gettig ready for it. In your county out there in New York it might be different, so go check it out.

The courthouse is a plethora of information for rei's!! Like a pandora's box if you will... LOL! You can find tax sales, liens, foreclosure notices, eviction notices, probates, all kinds of goodies. I could spend a week down there, if I wasn't working that is.

Foreclosures (meaning after auction) are almost always listed with an agent to sell for the lender who now owns it. Have your buyers agent pull up the listings on the MLS under Bankowned, Foreclosures, REO, all meaning the same. After auction they just become listed property. If you would like to find them in more of a preforeclosure status, you can go to the county courthouse or see if you have info on line at www.netronline.com. This will give you online access if it is available in your county. The headings you would look for is either Lis Pendens or Notice of Default, depending if you are a judicial or non-judicial state.
