Im discussing a lease option on a duplex with a seller and he is willing to do a 1 year lease. He said he prob would rather have an up front premium vs a monthly premium for the option to buy?
Is he basically saying he would want 1 year of rent upfront?
Thanks,
Shaun

Did you ask him what he wanted exactly? It sounds like he wants you to give him a set amount. for example; $2400 up front instead of $200 per mo extra for the year. And then just pay regular rent for the 12 months before you exercise your option to buy. Does that sound right?
I guess you'd have to ask him to know for sure.
Good luck and congrats on moving forward.
