OfflineJust curious as to what I should be doing while I wait on the coarse to get here. I have been looking at the digital kit, but then I also see it has what I am to being doing all the way through day 30. Just wondering, can I go any faster than that? Is there something I could be doing to better my knowledge on it so I can get a head start before it gets here? I constantly read the message boards and all of that, and have learned a great deal from them already. But is there something that will help me start a little faster? Please, I really want to go about this the right way, and the best way, because I have 3 little ones that I want to go to college 
Also, anyone doing this course in the Houston, Texas area?

Study the area that you intend to invest in. Get a good understanding of what is happening with real estate in your area. Talk to Realtors and Mortgage Brokers. Tell tham what you are intending to do. Get their feedback.

also, if you haven't joined your local REIClub, you should because they are a great way to learn a lot about REI and also a great way to meet people. Don't be shy. Get out there and meet people, ask questions, get in front of people. This is a people person's business.

your "POWER TEAM" should consist of your: Contractors, RE Attorney, Realtor, Mortgage Broker, Painter, Tree/Stump Remover, Landscapers, Carpet Installer, Plumber, RE Accountant, Electrcian, that should about do it. Don't get overwhelmed it took me quite a long time to get my "POWER TEAM" in place

My friend Sully is right. Putting your power team together is something that you don't do in 1 day. I think that you should work on getting teamed up with a realtor, mortgage broker, lawyer, accountant, and your rheab team in that order. Anytime I look at a house or do a driveby, my rehab guy goes with me. It might cost me breakfast or lunch, but it is well worth it because he feels he is part of my team and he is. PRICELESS Now go learn and go make money...Jan

(Of course, I take my rehab guy and then usually MAKE him dinner since he's my husband. lol)
