I am just curious how people are doing with this course as of now. There has not been any recent post's in this forum, so I am wondering if I am just in the wrong place or what. I just ordered the course for my wife and I, and I am very eager about getting involved. My wife is actually going to be the one that is going to dig head first, while I hold down the financial strain of a J O B. Any starter tips would be very much appreciated.
By the way, does anyone have anything to do with the TALD course, or has everyone just ordered the book? Just curiuos.

I ordered the Think A Little Different program about two and a half years ago. That is how I got started. I had no real estate experiance when I bought the kit. Not long after that I got started with the coaching program. I was broke when I got started. I have been reletively successful. I keep learning every day and continue to grow my real estate business every week. What I recommend is to real the entire TALD program over and over. Then do everything that the program recommends. The most important thing of all is to set writen goals and never, never give up. You can go fast or go slow, I recommend going fast. That's what I did. Also, something else is real estate moves in trends, sometimes the trends move up and the price of real estate goes up in value and sometimes trends move down and the price of real estate moves down in value. The real money is made during a downtrend. Dean's book talks extensively about trends. I like cashflow real estate by renting the properties I own out. Some people like flipping which is much more difficult to learn and has a little more risk to it. Whichever stategy you pick, put your heart and soul into it and never give up! Good luck!
You've got to find your obstacles and call them out! Unsheath the sword, and do battle with whatever it is that holds you back!
Thank you for the reply. Hopefully when I receive all of my stuff within the 7 business days it will have something in there about the coaching program. I have always been interested in real estate. I have checked out other real estate programs, but this is the only one that I have found that has a message board that you can get practically all of your questions answered. That is what I am big on, being helped. The way I look at it, once I get the hang of all of the stuff, then I would gladly help someone else out. I just have to be sure I know exactly what I am talking about before regret trying to help someone out. Once again, thank you.

Hi there
I have read the book probably 20 times over, but I also have the TALD program and the education I receive from it is priceless. It was due to the program and the book that I took my first step into REI and have not looked back since. It changed my whole life.
It not only provides motivation but a sound foundation for building a business that will support you and your family for years to come. Knowing this and putting it with my personal reasons for wanting to make a change, I am now, and can say it boldly a successful RI with more to come. Thanks to The Book and TALD.
I hope this helps you get an idea of what you are in for.

Well..since my last post to this forum, i have joined Deans Success Academy. Haven't really had a chance to dig in head first, but I plan to very soon. In fact, I hope to be able to get started quicker than I expected. Starting to put some 'GHOST' ads out right now, trying to build a database. I guess I will see what this is all about, eh?
You will NOT be disappointed! Keep us posted. (and if you didn't already start a journal, you could do that. It'll be fun to watch a fellow success student' s progress from the get-go. ) I'm really excited for you and your wife! (and congratulations on the new baby. )

Thanks so much Rina. I was trying to figure out HOW you knew about that, then I looked under my profile hehe. Yup, I beleive I need to do this for my children, so they can have a better life growing up then I did. Not that I had a BAD one, but parents always BROKE. I made it though, and now I am trying to convince my dad to indulge in this also, because he has quite a bit of money in stocks, bonds, 401k, and other stuff. But, he says I need to prove to him that this is the way to go, so now I am on fire.
great motivator, isn't it?
Well, you get that first great deal under your belt and your dad will be a believer. Just think what you guys could do together!
Have fun!

I just need some guidance what is the first step, do you start a LLC and do you do a property trust. I am just starting TALD and I am trying to order my book BARM but I am not able to get anyone to answer the phone
Please give me a hint, I ride around daily looking at homes and I feel this inside of me so much. I have got to change the legacy of my family. My first child will be in college in 3 years and I got nothing.

How long does it take before you receive your order?
I recived my TALD system since yesterday and right now, I'm listening to the audio cd's that I synch into my ipod and it's getting me really exicted.
Even though I posted a same topic like this and had no responce yet, I think I'm going to check this topic in this area here and keep informed.
I'm also new here too and I have the new book comming in the mail very shortly.
So with that, welcome and don't stop on your TALD program, I know that I won't.
Cheers!
The Think a little Different Course is great. It really inspired me to think a little different about every opportunity you see. When looking at properties, do not just see the property as it is. See what others miss Visualize what you can do with a double lot such as a build a garage, sell it to an adjoining neighbor, etc. This course of Dean's really opened my eyes to see things others missed. I love being able to find properties on double lots because the opportunities can be endless. Believe and achieve.

One word. AWSOME!! Those people above are living proof that it works if you put the effort in. But I too bought the TALD program as well as the books. You can never get enough knowledge as far as i am concerned and I get so into deans stories on how he made his deals. He makes learning RE fun.
The words i see typed are true truth,I will check it out...promise! You must understand...I make my future, I know it sounds harsh but i make my life! If TALD is the Killer i will make it apart of my life. (Promise) Thanks for the information!

hi
I ordered TALD about 2 mth ago,I also read BARM and I am almost done with the new book. All 3 of them are very helpful. They all have some great info in them.
I just started Deans success Academy and It's great. All the information you need is in the books,so use them.Do not read LIKE A STORY BOOK.They are text books to be used like that.In my case I had to do more than read. The books was not going to call a real estate agent or call a motivated seller or do any of the foot work. That was my job
In The book It says to
'Think Outside the Box" but thinking is passive - In my case I had to ACT OUTSIDE THE BOX.
Ihe point is no matter what book you are reading action is the key to all of Deans books. His books are all full of great info.Don't get discouraged if you do not understand something get on this website and ask questions and keep asking until you understand it,there are alot of people on this site that will help if you ask plus they know what they are talking about.
good luck on your future investments

hi everyone, I'm new to the dg family, I've heard of the TALD Journal, is there a way I can get this. I see the course is a old one, but is there a way to get parts of it?? Thank You, Rick
I was looking at buying the TALD program myself but I wasn't sure if I needed it. I've read both BARM and PFRERN several times, I've almost finished the Success Academy and I've finished the EDGE kit as well. I'm trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible because I can't afford to jump in and make a costly mistake at this point in my life. I have a touch of "analysis-paralysis" but I'm still plugging away at my goals and my education. Reading these posts have convinced me to get the TALD program and to keep moving forward.
Thank you to all who care enough to help others through this site and a big THANK YOU to Dean himself for all that you do for all of us.
Best wishes,

Dean says...he knew of a property going into foreclosure the one where he contacted the bank...and the bank said they could not sell him the property but they could sell him the lien...basically they sold him the note. So why today are we doing all these short sales and reo's has anyone thought of just calling the bank and asking them to sell them the note as in Dean's example...Has anyone done that? Looking for some clarity?

Investing scares most people, even professional advisors frequently worry about the buy-sell decisions they make. But then most of us worry about something every day, whether it be that car approaching the intersection too fast or will I have time to finish breakfast and relax before leaving home for the day.
The real question when it comes to safe investing is can I manage my account, my IRA, retirement account or any other portfolio is a reasonable amount of time, say 20 minutes a week, without losing my shirt or being so frustrated it just isn't worth it.
The answer, in my opinion, is an emphatic, YES.
The key to not just safe investing, but to profitable investing involves only a few factors. And these investment principles can be followed by anyone.
Profitable investing is dependent upon making logical decisions. This means taking your emotions, your personal likes and dislikes (within reason) out of your decisions. The best way to do this is to rely upon a technical investment program that analyzes market data to make recommendations based strictly upon facts and not upon "what we think" or what "we like".
Develop investment strategies that are back tested for reliability and propensity to recommend profitable investment timing signals; the signals of when to buy or sell or even exit the markets temporarily.
Develop a method to double check your strategies to be sure they are steering you in the right, profitable direction.
Keeping in mind that you may be selecting your investments from different groups or universes of stocks, ETFs or mutual funds, it is important to remember a few critical facts:
Not all investments or strategies move up at the same time (I know this is a no brainer but read on).
Different strategies of the same group will give different results depending upon market conditions. This mean you need to know which strategy is the best right now or at any particular point in time. The easiest way to do this is to have a chart showing the performance of all your strategies for each particular investment group.
Don't put all your eggs in one basket - yes, you've heard this before - but look at your portfolio from many angles such as:
Different means of analysis work for different types of groups
Sell rules are not universal and each group, each strategy should have its own unique set of sell rules (easily done with an investment program)
Have two, three, perhaps even four buy-sell strategies for each of your investment groups so you can use the one that is providing the best profits in today's market.
You can spend hours every day or every week going over market data, market information. You can watch TV and hear different recommendations on what to buy or sell. But you can simply your process with an investment tool so you can simply look at the analysis, a few charts, perhaps a list of recommendations and know both where you stand and what you need to do - all in a short period of time. It takes me only 20 minutes a week at the most. mgate
