Hello DG Family

My Name is Mike DePriest. Joined the success academy a little over two years ago. One week of joining I found out I had throat cancer.

I continued to do the course and fight this cancer.

One month ago I was told I now have lung cancer! This one like the first time I will fight with everything I have to beat it.

The reason I'm writing is I really need help.

My wife and I almost lost everything the first time and I don't have much left to lose.

If anyone oput there is willing and able to give us a helping hand...(not a handout)we would be very greatful for it...

Been to Boots, joined inner circle, was doing the online class, have good coach, been attending local REI Club mtgs, am signed up for June Summit, was doing well - found one realtor, five buyers, some properties I was crunching numbers on, even almost had an offer for a fsbo - then it was time to move from the rental to the place we now pay mortgage for: took four solid days/nights to accomplish a 1.5-mile shift of belongings, then another 8 days without computer because modem died, had to ship a new one and get it up and running so missed the videos I'd signed up to watch on March 21 and 23, was unable to continue online class, get listings from realtor, do anything with craigslist, etc.... Was totally exhausted for a few days, am now feeling overwhelmed with boxes to unpack/house to organize, backlog of emails to sort thru for important ones, and my mind goes in circles and can't focus on what needs doing first! BUT, I keep listening to the weekly videos, gave my name and email for the 30 Days book, and have been doing what the Coach suggests, so I WILL be back! I WILL SUCCEED! Thank you for continuing to believe in me/all of us!

You know, folks, just reading doesn't do it all...there is the action step!

I admit that is where I am still very week, but truly before tis market recovers each of us [especially me] must take the all important move to DO what Dean has proven to be the Step for Success.

I was going to get my Real Estate license and start working for Keller Williams as soon as training was complete, but I have sciatica and I can't get a break.

I'm not down and out about it because of this site which allows me to know the difference between working for someone else and WORKING for ME!
This site explains clearly how this is down on your own.

The book "Profit from Real Estate
Right Now" is a great read and there it spells out what everyone else is going through including Brokers and other professionals in this field.

I haven't given up, even though it looks that way. I'm still jumping hurdles. My mother in law passed in January. It was a shock to say the least. And, I am recovering from surgery that I had in March.

Dean: I have always been a fan of OJT...began a career in aerospace 33 years ago and without a clue about the science of flight. Leaned much along the way and met many great people in my time. I have always said, "All the GPA tells me is how well you have learned how to learn". I am learning a new side of real estate besides my salesman experiences dating back to 2008. Wow! Great wisdom this week! Boy is that ever my problem! I over analyze things all the time. I guess that's because I don't want to make a mistake, don't want to suffer negative consequences. I think there's also a false sense of security in over analyzing. And before I do any more over analyzing, I think I'll go take some action and do some REI homework from 30 Days to Fast Cash which I got at last weekend's BUYING SUMMIT which was AWESOME! My husband and I really enjoyed it and we're now energized to do some deals! Thanks Dean et al. M
