I listed my top 10 Cool List, but the one that stands out is I NEVER GIVE UP!
I've been with you for awhile now and have yet to do my first deal, so you'll be hearing from me one day because: I never give up.

You bring out the best in all of us. It was Ralph Waldo Emerson who said, "What lies before us and what lies behind us is of small consequence to what lies within us." Once we look within we all have soething to be proud of. I ecently looked at my own "bucket list" and found many things allready checked off. I piode myself that I can do GOD's will now in my life and REI is the perfect tool to achieve it. Keep up the good work.

Dean, that was so timely how did you know, you are plugged in arent you nice. 1 cool thing about me is I have been taking action and have a realtor and have made 27 offers this week & will make more.

HI DEAN, and everyone else.

I've looked, watch, and waited for this...literally my whole entire life.

When I was seven...I used to sit and try my best to see how I could buy the old building behind my house. I wanted it because we had a large family - and when we all got together- WE GOT TOGETHER. There was hardly any room to move--can u imagine, 100-136 people in a 1100 sq. ft. house?
My parents were huge on the holiday dinners....so, it would sometimes get a little crowded.
I finally got to talk to the older gentleman who own that building.
I asked if he would sell me that building, he laughed and ask me what I would give him for it( yeah, he was probably dying laughing inside) .....I looked over at the building, and politely said," Well, I have to talk to my mom and dad about their part in it, but, I'm sure they'd agree I'm being perfectly clear here." The man went on to say," Ok, what's your deal?"

"Well, I figure the building is older than me by at lease my daddy's age, so....this is it...You get the best homemade meal you ever had in your life - on ever holiday and every Sunday for the rest of your life- made by my parents....Plus, my ten dollars, that I've saving for this very moment...and I'll through in an extra ten cents a month until I turn sixteen...and pay u off"

Now, I know that was a lot to to go thru, but there is a point.....true story, and I hope u got a laugh out of it.

There are certain things in life we cannot change: are biologic parent,and other family members- just to name a few---

But the one thing for sure that hasn't changed for me and one of my favorites is that, I have always believed in what I am doing....

GOING WITH MY GUT. When every one....and I mean everyone is telling me not to do this....but I am.

If everything goes according to plan, then this Friday will be my first deal done(closing)- and I only have just under three hours into it. I don't have time to be on here much lately....I'm getting too busy !! I showed it on Monday, and I sold it on Monday....and the buyer told me he wants ten more like it.....so, I went out and found five more.....

It might take me a while........BUT I KNOW MY " WHY ", and it's working for me !!!

My "cool" is- for me- I'm not intimidated by others who have done better or more.....I'm happy for them....I like that a lot of this is common since to me....I don't know everything....but, I'm gonna give it a good shot.

Hi Dean, Thanks for the words of Wisdome. I changed my entire life to take care of children in need. I got laid off of my job as a H.V.A.C.& R.( Heating, Ventilation,Air Condetioning, and refrigeration) technician. While I was off work I started to help a very good friend with her medicaly needy kids and enjoyed it. She said that I should get licensed as a Treatment Foster Parent. I did just that, but decided to go further and went back to school to get my deploma as a Certified Medical Assistant. I now work at a Medical clinic and at home I am taking care of three Treatment foster kids on top of my own biological Son.
Clyde,

1) To have the courage to change job at age of 60 when everybody else thinks I'm craze.
2) To have a big heart to think about others when I see something that might help not only myself but others too.
3) To realize and recognize I have a amazing wife.
4) To be always looking for ways to improve my life's financial status.
5) To consider see myself a cool, hard worker and honest type of person.
6) My wiliness to learn new things.
7) To have gone from a poor boy from Brazil to a successful person in USA.
To believe I can change my family and friends life through DC teachings.
9) To understand I can do wherever I put my mind into it.

Let's see...what's cool about me..let me count the ways..

1.) I consider myself to be a good Parent, in all I do for my children.

2.) I've been married for 14yrs, altogether 15. Yippee!! To a wonderful, handsome, man. Thank you Lord!!

3.) I've accomplished alot in life, God has brought me a might long, long, way! Thank you Jesus!! I'm not going back...because there's nothing back there for me.

4.) I'm growing spiritualy, closer to God everyday!. I may not be where I want to be yet, but Thank God I'm not where I use to be!!

5.) I'm growing, learning more about Real Estate Investing. Which I had no interest before, till I stumbled across Dean's commercial on T.V.

6.) I love reaching out to others and letting them know God loves them, no matter what they may have done wrong, in the past, present, future. He loves them unconditionaly, just doesn't like the sin.

7.) I'm not giving up to become a great real estate investor! I really want to help others that are in need of saving their home from the bank taking it, or simply just to lend a helping hand in any area of real estate that I can be of assistance, and of course to become very sucessful in all I do, in this type of business.

8.) Everyday I stay productive, rather reading, studying, going on internet, learning, and stepping out taking action in Real Estate.

9.) I'm a good wife, not a perfect one.

10.) I love my gift(s), God has blessed me with. And learn to share them with others!!

I am an extremely special individual, as I am a child of God. And I love to help others to come to know, how they can know the things I know. Especially, that I know Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, that if I follow His teachings and example, I know I'll be with Him again.

I keep going through, over, or around an obstacle/challenge/problem. I may wish life was easier sometimes yet I love the wisdom I am gaining!

I like this exercise. I keep my list by my bed to remind myself. I have even included the 12 greatest things about Kelsey (my daughter) in her high school graduation gift. (12 years of school get it LOL) One cool thing about me is survival instinct against all odds... out of the box solutions. Someday I will tell you all my story.

Once again thank you so much Dean for the encouragement. I have made several offers but I have an accepted offer as of yesterday and I am calling the list of buys to sell the property and complet my first deal. Thank you for the encouragement to keep going!

Some things that are cool about me is that i do not crumble under pressure, i am a good mom/person and i will continue pressing forward to forfill my dreams. Real estate will be the next level for me but thanks for the patience. For anyone who may read this "it aint over til it's over, so don't give up or give in" have a great week! If I can, you can!

Dean I have watched your weekly wisdoms on and off for about a year. I have never posted as I was not sure if it would provide any value for the DG team, or maybe the confidence level was not there for me to put what was going on in my life. What I realized today from this video is that we are all cool in our DG way. We all visit this website to learn, and listen to you to be motivated. Why? Because we have the same passion for real estate, and we want that "Freedom" to never miss anything in our families lives. So I am posting today to say I am cool, in hopes that my post can motivate one person to do there first deal, keep there head on straight, cross over the bumpy road when it sucks. Challenges are tough dont let anyone and I mean anyone tell you know you can't. Cliche I know, but "10% of life is what happens to you and 90% is how you react to it". Go out and do it now, get the deal done and dont look back. Oh yeah another Cool thing about myself is my kids think I ROCK!

I ran across Deans Infomercial in in 2009.
Doubted myself not the information in the video so I procrastinated, not cool.
I am here today because I've constantly watched the weekly wisdom and purchased two of Deans books, read them both a total of 7 times, lol! That's real cool, wasn't a huge reader growing up.
TODAY, have put together business cards, ready to order!! Very COOL!!
Went to bed earlier, thinking of Real Estate. Said a prayer asking for the inspiration to press forward and be successful. Ironically got up to watch the weekly wisdom and it's about what's cool about you. Noe that's inspiration!! That's not just cool, That's AWESOME!!

My first comment to the blog, but I've been on this site for years. Being as I have no piece of paper, I'm just going to do what everyone else did...
1. I lost my job, and I'm not sad about it. I decided to finally do this thing!
2. I have the courage to continue to do it, even when I am looking at a hugo e cut in income job-wise. It would be so easy for me to get wrapped up in a few jobs, and lose sight of REI. Not again.
3. I have had enough of being a slave to a boss! I will make my own money, and that is thst!
4. I tell everyone I'm doing REI, and I don't give a care what they think. Everyone else is doing it, why not I?
5. Even when a deal is starting to sink (which a few are), I come up with alternate ways to make it work! I do REI for the homeowner needing to get rid of their house. I do REI for the guy with deep pockets that wants some more rentals. This is my purpose, and my lot in life!
6. I am doing this for me, for my daughter, and for my family.
7. I will get a DeLorean. Even if I'm living in a DeLorean down by the river, I WILL GET MY DELOREAN!!!
8. God will lead me through this path, as I believe he introduced me to it. This is His will.
9. I am smart enough to realize that the likelyhood of me getting an engineering career with a felony is probably not going to happen, and education won't change that.
10. I will not let the errors of my ways slow me down, I will not let other people slow me down, I will not let mindsets slow me down.

Dean, thank you for this and all the other wisdom's you've bestowed upon us. Thank you for all the inspiration you have given us, and God bless you!

Hi Dean,

The cool thing I have done is step out of the box and my comfort zone. Training with your team has given me insight on how challenging it can be to invest in real estate. When I first decided to do this in 2008, now we are in 2012 and I am still not giving up on doing this. Every time I see myself going foward here come the one step backward incident that put a monkey wrench in my game. I cannot compare myself to anyone. I am kind hearted, giving, and will be able to pay my tithes, and take care of myself and help build a legacy for my grandchildren someday. After everyone made fun of me saying I have lost my retirement on a scammed I just say when I am successful in real estate remember what you have said!! I will not give up I have taken my first step to getting out of my poor state of mind and having my own one day. keep the encouraging videos coming. Only the strong survive.

It is simply living the dream. Retired from the military at 44 years old and for a year searched for what type of work that would be fun to do. At my wife's suggestion, started a handyman business initially. Then added buying tax liens and flipping houses within a few months. Tax liens bring a return of 18% or you get the property in my state. So, for a two days of bidding, we make more than many make in a year and this Sept. may be getting tax deeds, some land and others are houses, works out to 2000-3000% return on investment. First flip netted $23,000 in two months, it was a win-win, pre-foreclosure, saved the family from bad credit rating and put a single guy into a newly redone house. Next shifted flips to rentals, bought first rental for about 60% under market, the rent should pay for the house in less than 5 years. Added several more rental and my average purchase price is about 50% of market. By word of mouth I get calls on rentals available and requests to do repairs. Love giving back to calls from little old ladies and quite often do repairs and tell them there is no charge! Not sure what is next for me, but right now each day is exciting!

Again you help us all with your energy and great positive mindset exercises. I'm planning on keeping this list and reading it daily as a motivational reminder about what is cool about me:

-I have a great supportive wife and 2 wonderful boys who are 6 and 1 years old

-I'm an easy going, humble and extremely positive motivated person, who gets along and relates to people of all types.

-I have a passion for real estate and have invested in your seminars, workshop, and boots on the ground

-I have a full time job coordinating installations of aquatic research system at universities and research institutes all over the US and the world. These research systems use a species called a zebrafish are being used to help find cures for cancer that will help
many people we know.

-On December 24, 2001 I was in a snowboarding accident, suffered an incomplete spinal cord injury and was paralyzed from the waist down, a paraplegic. I can now walk and I help motivate others who have had spinal cord injuries. One day I will finish my book called "Lets Walk" and affect even more live in a positive way.

-I'm a man of my word

-I have great family and friend support to help me get to where I am today

-I continue to look towards the future but stay focused on the present realizing tomorrow may never come...

-I make others want to be better people and help inspire them, while at the same time gather inspiration from the people around me.

-My grandma taught me how to save money and helped me opened my first bank account at 8years old.

-I raised parakeets and cockatiels as a kid which helped me save money to buy my first property on the Walker River.

Thank you all on this site for being so supportive for everyone and sharing your knowledge and experiences. I can honestly say after all I mentioned above that finding Dean and this site was the best thing that has ever happened in my life. Much love to all.

What's cool about me is that this is my second post ever. I am a good listener. I listened to Dean, Called 28 banks, before I found one that would give me a loan. Got the loan and have turned 8 properties in a year and 3 months with the bank $. Working on my biggest deal now 30 lot subdivision that I bought from one of the banks that I called. In contract to sell the lots for $520k profit. My listening turned to action=profit.

Dean can prolly relate to this due to his car sales background. I think I'm pretty cool because I flipped a car on Craigslist and made $1500. This came easy to me with no stress. So why is it so hard to apply to real estate? I'm thinking lack of confidence because I don't feel like I'll have the right answers to situations that may arise. I mean I want to be the "expert" you know. So just doing it is the way to get over that I no, yet I'm frozen. Also maybe someone has a remedy to this situation. When I drive around and find empty properties usually theres a sign posted on the door with contact info for either a property preservation company, bank, Fannie/Freddie,Sherrif etc. Basically if you call these numbers they'll tell you to contact the listing realtor or wait till it gets listed on the mls. With no option to make an offer till then. Theres got to be a way to make an offer before it goes to the mls!! Is this a privelege that just the insiders have? Do I have to pay for a course to learn how it's done? Please help relieve the frustration! Thanks all.....

I don't have 10 things but.....

WHATS COOL ABOUT ME...

that i not only found an agent that will work with me but i found 2 agents one that will specialize in one area while the other is in the other area so no one agent overworks themselves.

how far i have come since graduating high school with all the "Non Real Estate" adversities i had to overcome!

Not having to worry about "Slaving" for the system anymore.

that i am "DIFFERENT" than anyone else!....

The fact even though i have not made my first deal yet...i have found the strength and courage to press on thanks to Dean!...eventually i will have one ...just follow the Lord as he is my pilot in life!

You brought a hint of a smile to my face. I have always had the opposite reaction to the success stories on this site-feeling down, not inspired. It felt like everyone was passing me by. Especially hard were the 1st deal postings by people who joined after I did. You're right though-no one walks in my shoes or lives my life. I need to compare me to me and then look for areas to improve. Which is a good thing to list on my "cool" list- I am actively engaged in improving myself and my life every day. Excuse me, now I have to go do something real estate-y so I can break through to that 1st deal too!

Dear Dean,

I really think God brought you and your program into my life for more than just real estate investing. I am so grateful for everything you teach us and how to look at life in ways that keep us fighting for the good things God has for us in this life.

Today’s homework was to think of 10 cool things about ourselves. This is a really hard assignment for me but I need to do this every now and then to realize I do make a difference in this world as we all have gifts and talents God can use in a broken dying world without hope. We are that hope.

10 Cool Things About My Self

1.) I know and Love Jesus.

2.) I am learning to walk in faith at levels I never knew before. ( it is really hard and not much fun as I am learning to walk in faith) When I get to the other side of these faith lessons I will be able to move mountains with the Faith God is teaching me to walk in now. For these moments it is scary but in the future not only will there be victory, but also peace as you are walking through the things use to be hard or scary for you in the past.

3.) I care about others and will try to help others when I can or if I have the resources that makes it possible for me to do so.

4.) I volunteer with troubled teenagers as a faith bases counselor in one of the local juvenile halls where I live.

5.) I am the event coordinator for the Jv. Hall for the thanks giving Dinners. Through Chaplain’s Eagles Ministries.

6.) I serve at my church wherever I am needed even if that means that I am swopping out empty toilet paper rolls for new ones in the woman’s bathroom when it needs it. I have found that many women think that is really cool. The guys don’t feel really comfortable going into the women’s bathrooms during church when women could be in there. You can’t blame them.

7.) I love the Mission Statement of my church “Loving God, Serving People, Changing Lives.” I want that to also be my Mission Statement in every part of my life.

8.) It is really cool that God is teaching me not to hate but to love those around me who are hard to be around. I don’t hate Boom, boom boy, I hate his actions, but I pray for him and my prayers just might have save his life when he fell off the roof of the house he was working on at least Long enough for God to get a hold of his life and change him. Pray for the salvation and Love of God to be put into his heart for himself and others.

9.) It is really cool to be able to see the true problem is not the person but the person’s actions. Knowing that there is good and evil in this world and knowing the evil is not the person but is driving them to do the evil things or actions that they do against us or others.

10.) In some ways I have learned and in other ways still trying to learn to see things through God’s eyes. If we can even take it a step further to see things through God’s eyes and learn to develop God’s heart for others we will always remember that people are not the problem it was the fall of Adam and Eve that is the problem. The true enemy is not Boom Boom boy but the devil that encourages all of us to do things that can hurt others and discredit our testimony of who we are in Jesus.

I have learned a lot about myself through this homework assignment. Thank you for this challenging assignment Dean.
