Dean Graziosi Weekly Wisdom #188 - What You're Fighting For

Here's a new twist on the Weekly Wisdom. In this edition Dean does a bit of a movie review and recommendation. The movie he is recommending is
all about what each one of us needs to focus on to succeed. Take a look at this and unleash the power you need to "crush it" in all you do
this week.

PS- Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there!

An awakening blog

Dean, once again you have inspired me to fight for what I want in life. I too have lived through struggles and have crossed many challenges in life. I felt hopless and stagnant at times, but by listening to your blog every week has helped me to see that there is hope and vitality. Thank you very much for your wisdom and the encouragement that you have shared. Keep up the good work. Happy Father's day!

Great Story!

jcwp's picture

Great story! I have never seen the movie, but I will get it now for sure. I love to hear about strength and success that is driven by the love and sense of responsibility for someone else! We all have our own reasons why, but I bet when you get right down to the nitty gritty of every one of those reasons, they are wrapped up in love and giving.
Thanks again Dean for another inspiring weekly wisdom!

The blog 188

This is an amazing, inspiratioanl, place for me to be. I have am movingout of my comfort sone and beginning the process of submitting offers. I had to find the right agent because much as we have heard and spoken about in earlier blogs some agents may not be so receptive to new ways of doing things. I am on my way and I owe it to my dg family. To all the fathers, I hope that your day was blessed, divinely favored and it was all the you may have wanted. Staying positive no matter what is so important, keeping focus on the why, and taking action. I am learning more and more everyday as I am doing the system. Thanks to all who belong to the dg family.

Thanks Dean, Great Question?

Dean,
Once again - you keep talking about the Reason and mindset. I know it is such an important part of the big picture. I thank you for the constant reminder of the importance of this as it is so true. This movie is a great example . Fathers day was a great one for me and I hope it was for you.
Thanks again for this weeks wisdom!

Cinderella man

Dean,

Thanks for the weekly wisdom. I see the movie alittle differently. I'm reading a great book that has given me a boost of motivation. The book is Resolved - 13 resolutions for life by Orin Woodward. Anyways, I believe the character played by Russell Crowe had a purpose. That was his why. His purpose was his intersection of his passion(ones motivation to feed and take care of his family)with his potential(his God given talent, boxing)and his Profits (ones economis engine). Its only when a person intersects all three of these that he will fulfill his destiny by living a purposeful life.

This is what has fueled my fire again. I'm working on my first flip. I should be closing this next week. Its been a long haul of the ups and downs. I purchased the property from a self directed IRA that I learned about in the edge summit in Las Vegas. The property was a REO that I purchased for $54,000 and I rehabbed it for $19,000. I found a buyer who purchased it for $108,000 with me giving a cost credit of $3,000. She was able to get financing through a FHA loan. FHA allows flips within 90 days with certain criteria. You can figure out the profit after my holding costs.

If anyone is reading this, find your purpose and you should be able to accomplish what ever your desires are!!!!

Thanks Dean and God Bless you.

What an inspiration

What an inspiration this week's blog is. I agree that it may be one of your best to date. It is so apparent that you are a kind, caring human being. We are all blessed to have found you. Thanks ever so much for all you do for us.

Another thought sparked...

Tina1's picture

Reading through the comments, Tom B's viewpoint of the triple point intersection/ fulfilling purpose, and Dean's "why" made me think of what I call my Central Purpose, and it also made me think of Dean's villain within-- we tend to get in our own way. In Kaizen this is explained by the Fight or Flight part of our brain, and we must trick our brain by taking small, tiny, steps that our mid brain won't notice.

In Cinderella Man, the one thing Crowe's character did that we must do is he got in the ring; he seized the opportunity. He did not allow the voices in his head that were undoubtedly chanting such things as "you're washed-up, you're out of shape, you're too old", he took the opportunity! In our Dean's Real Estate world I think of it as he made the offer, he made the call, he went to a REI Club and spoke. Damn the villains within us! Gain the strength from your "why", stop the Flight reaction from your brain by tricking it with small steps, quiet the mind full of questions and focus on your Central Purpose.
You know you want it.
You know you have the tools.
Do it for milk, because you deserve it, because you can.
Be scared, but take the step.
One step, one call, one offer.
Get in the ring.
Fight.

-Tina

I haven't seen the movie but

RD2Invest1980's picture

I haven't seen the movie but it sounds great! What I take from your commentary on it is, you win from within! Many people don't understand that. They try so hard to change all the outside things and think that will bring fulfillment on the inside, but the opposite is true. You must first be fulfilled on the inside and change your mindset to a winner's mindset, then it will transport to the outside and then will you live a happy, joyful, peaceful, prosperous life!

Movie that Dean talked about

I know what you are saying but I have had so many things happen. My husband died, I got totally taken in a marina investment that I took money out of the selling 4 homes to get. The states of Florida and Calif. have not gone after them to get our money back..Yet. They say now its too late and yet the guy is doing it again in Maryland.
I have been in 2 accidents and not gotten anything but a bad attorney, and finally after almost 5 years I have an attorney thta might can get something for me.
My a/c is almost gone due to a man cheating me on it.This is a top of the line Trane. My refrigerator had the compressor die because it is made in Brazil. It also is top of the line. I am borrowing one from a neighbor they had in their garage. it is going on and on. How can I find someone to lend me money for buying houses which I am good at, but now my perfect credit is ruined with 2 credit cards I had to let go as I could no longer pay them. My mortgage has never been a day late.
I bought all my real estate, including this home I am in, way under the value and sold everything I sold, way over the value, but now I have no way to get the absolute bargains I find daily. I can't get anyone to turn their deed over until its TOO late. That is when they will tell you the truth. Can' do anything then.
I need money to make cash deals with the bank like others I know can when they still have their credit and have their money which mine is gone in a lost $11million marina, and that is only 1 of the deals the man took all on..total...$160 million.
But all I need is a way to get 1-2 investments and I am set until I can recover.

Dean,

That video is part of my collection. Another good one is "City Slickers" and one in which Queen Latifa play the part of a sales clerk wanting to own her own resturant. While working as a clerk, she was misinformed about an illness. She was told she didn't have long to live so she went about doing the things she had only dreamt about. She also had a scrap book titled "The Book of Posibilities." In this book she kept pictures, articles, etc. about all the things she wanted to do in life as well as her perspective (future) husband. While living out her last few days on earth, she travels to europe and lives out part of her dreams. While there she receives a message stating that her illness had been mis-diagonsed and that she wasn't going to die. To make the story short, she married her dream guy (played by LL Cool J) and opened a resturant which is visited by Emile.

Her dreams and asperation became a reality because she believed in herself.

Billy Crystal stated in City Slickers, that there is only one important thing in life that matters. That thing is ....

It's different for everyone, but you be the judge.

Thanks again. Your message sparked old kindled feeling.

Wow!!

Thanks again Dean, I saw the movie awhile ago, but I'm renting it again!!! Your video has helped me to find my why. That has been one of the hardest things for me to do, to dig deep enough. Thank you Dean!!

fighting

I know what you are talking about. When my hubby first became disabled, I used to go to the dumpsters behind the stores for vegetable trimmings and buy a soup bone for a dime. The soup this made is the way I fed our family. I am working hard at this so our kids will never have to go through anything like this for their family.

Great Blog!

DebraAnn's picture

Dear Dean,
I am really excited!! I have been fighting and God is making a way when there was no way. If all goes well I will be in your academy this year as that is what I have been fighting for ever since your csr's first called me for the first seminar I attended at the Hilton in Warner Center. I am fighting to get in to your programs as I know what you have to offer will help me get me out of the situation that I have been living in in the last 10 years. Living on faith and not cash.

I must keep fighting as I want to take care of my parents and serve God. God will make a way when there is no way and last month I found out a friend of a friend is an investor and I am now included in their investment group and when I have the money I will get the training from you I have been crying out to God to provide for me. If all goes well maybe next year I can see you at the edge. As I said God will make a way when there is no way!!

Hi my name is Amer,i live in Nashville TN.i been party of success academy from november 2011 and still nothing.

Thank You Dean

You are an excellent teacher!
I must tell you.. i STOPPED pursuing my real estate venture/30 Days to Real Estate Profit because of a few reasons. 1) I was introduced to NETWORK MARKETING. I am now a business associate with LEGALSHIELD!!! AND I COULDNT BE ANY MORE HAPPIER!!! A) Why i joined is because LegalShield- Gives you access to a attorney for unlimited issues without worrying about high hourly costs. SO this was perfect since i plan to STILL DO REAL ESTATE INVESTING!! B) Both my Jobs Stop giving me hours & and i needed to get paid NOW. Not 30 Days.
I just wanted to let you know. because i felt like i let myself down by not committing to what i said i was going to do. which was GET REAL ESTATE CASH IN 30 DAYS!!!
AND AT THE SAME TIME, I DO NOT HAVE A MENTOR side by side to Direct Me.
I understand that my WHY is everything! So i will most definitely strengthen my WHY by watching cinderella man!!
I also wanted to let you know that i WILL NOT GIVE UP! Although i am not doing anything 'Real Estate' I STILL WATCH YOUR VIDEOS EVERY WEEK!!! because i truly look up to you! You Will The Main Factor To my success in REI.
I just got promoted in Legal Shield! the 1st two weeks! so Once i get enough income to replace my last two JOBS, My Head will Go Straight To Real Estate! Thank you for your time! i can not wait for the next vid!
I loved the last one about REO's!!!

P.S. Which Strategy DO you RECOMMEND!!! Wholesaling is Easy and something i can do. and also REO's sound really easy too!!!
