Thanks Dean for another weekly blog. I truly believe in the words echoed in this week's blog. I have experienced it, when I communicated my new career intentions to my family and friends. They believe it is a hoax and cannot happen. I have decided to just do what I have to and say nothing about it.

Hi Dean,

I didn't get a message in on last Tuesdays conference call but we were there listening and it was an excellent call. I just keep listening to you and reading the DG Website and my confidence is coming back. I want to be as confident as you. It does matter who you listen to, it can make or brake you. It is still our choice on our mindset.
We are making progress everyday and close to doing some birddog deals. I am totally content with the decisions I've made in getting into real estate investing. Thank you for all you give. Have a successful week.

This is so true. I wanted to do Real Estate Investing because of Dean's program, but my motivation went down when I told my parents, friends, and co worker that this was impossible. Watching this video made sense and that I was taking advice the detrimental way. Choosing advice from anyone does not lead to your success unless that person has succeeded! Thank you Dean!

With that my whole life. My Father told me I'm not white and would never make it as an entertainer. Well, I worked as an entertainer in the deep south for over 10 years. Being an Asian American/Pacific Islander from Hawaii. I had my own mind and my Mom would tell me I could do anything if my heart and soul wanted it badly enough. My Mother was one of three women who attended The University of Hawaii in the '30s. The story get's longer involving the purchase and loss of a condo due to my listening to family that discouraged my plans of flipping that condo and eventually I lost it to the very same person. That however is not the comment. What I want to impart in this comment is that, no offense to you but, you remind me of my Mother. Only encouragement and I appreciate it very much. Reading your book, the first one, and watching your Videos has taken me from car less, to owning two classic cars worth far more than what I paid and am now looking at a bank owned condo in the same complex that I previously had lost, mentioned above, asking is $28,000 appraised at $75,000 and I haven't even finished your book yet. THANKS for BEING YOU!

I agree with Randy; my glass is half full (and I aim to fill it)!

I NEVER take advice from unqualified people. I guess that's how I ended up here.

I tend to do my homework on something that I want to do. Then I make up my own mind on whether or not I want to do it. Once I've decided what I want, I seek knowledge and advice from positive, helpful people that know what they're talking about. (They have to be a combination of all 3.)

I was probably in my teens when I discovered that I have to SHOW people what I'm doing, rather than try to TELL them about my ideas. (Totally agree with SanBern's comment.)

When you have a keen desire to do something truly worthwhile - never let anyone squash your dreams!

Thanks for another weekly blog. I always love to start my week with your blogs.
It is so true, don't take advice from someone that hasn't done what you want to do. It is funny how so many negative people will tell you not to do something or tell you that it can't be done. Or one of my favorites, tell you that it is ok if you don't chase that dream-you will be fine, just accept what you have.
But then if you stop to think and you look at the situation that same negative person is in- Ask yourself, where is that negative person at in their lives? If they are nowhere you want to be. Are they qualified to be telling you not to chase your dreams. It can sometimes be too easy to listen to your friend, or brother, or co-worker, but just because they carry those titles of friend, brother, etc in your life..that title doesn't give them the right to know all is right with your life. It is hard to stop listening to the negative people, because they are the people you have gone to before. But I have always thought and I am glad you reminded me, don't get your advice from someone who hasn't walked the path before me.
I liked the blog- what a positive way to start my week.

Thanks for taking the time to share another weekly video blog with us. It is so true that our mindset can put us on the path of success or failure even before we start. So often in life we surround ourselves with others that may not be of the same mindset and look for guidance or inspiration. If the people we are around day to day are not motivated/positive/informative people, we need to find the like minded people that are (like on DG.com). We become part of the environment we are around. Inspirational people can bring you up rather than letting others bring you down. Thank you for another great lesson. just wanted to say thank you dean...you are so right,i did Amway in the 70,s did mellaluca,acn,doing pre paid legal,going on with marketing schooling and trying to do this but held back with life's needs for living...retired haz-mat tanker driver of 33 years and all my friends and relatives still run when they see me ,because they think Ive tried everything...maybe,but I'm not done yet and I'm only 58 ,and got a lot more to do...love your up beat mental state of mind,i believe the same way you do,and i,ll dye trying..till i hit it....

Along with your dooks, I have been reading a bunch of books right now, like, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill, and "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kyiosaki and I never realized until the past few years that even one negative comment made to open a discussion with someone else will lead to so many more negative comments and then just reinforce all the negative thoughts in your mind about the subject. It is so unhealthy and keeps your soul depressed. Even if there is something that makes you feel negative, you should come to terms with it quickly in your own mind and start focusing on the positive only, which will then bring more postive thoughts to you. This is the only way success can happen. So if you want postive, focus on the positive!! Thanks Dean! I

Thanks for the motivation to not let anyone talk us out of pursuing our dreams. I just read an article by Dr. Martin Weiss from Money and Markets. He is in Japan and his article talks about Japan's stagnant economy. Per Dr. Weiss, Japan's economy has been stagnant since 1990. Dr. Weiss talks about how there is a high unemployment among college graduates in Japan. Also, the homeless population is rising. The disturbing item in his article is that the United States is now trying to mirror Japan's Government Policies. Dr. Weiss states that he beleives the high unemployment in The U.S.A. will last for decades just like Japan. Dr. Weiss is an expert on Japan because he worked in Japan thirty years ago and is currently in Japan to look at their current situation. I think that Dr. Weiss is correct and the current job losses in the U.S.A. are permanent. So forget about the economy and pursue Real Estate investing. Great advice Dean. I still haven't taken my first steps. I'm still awaiting my books, but your site is a great start. I look forward to your weekly blogs, they really help keep my mind in focus. I'm so busy with work lately, and keeping my head above water, that I tend to let my goals become secondary. I am glad you provide this positive information. I myself have always tried new things, and have always been given the same negative feedback and opinions. This is just the first baby steps for me, but I'm already dreaming of what I am going to do when I reach my dreams and goals, and be able to focus on the truly positive aspects of life. I've been discouraged by various different people not to venture into real estate again. I lost everything of value in 2007-2008, was a major player in the mortgage industry. A bit stunned at first and afraid to get back out there. Then it dawned on me, this isn't my character and thanks to your encouraging messages and efforts. My goal is to be one if not your most successful student by the next EDGE 2011.

This is my mission regardless to what the Naysaers care to think. Never will I solely take advice from another indiviual that is bitter or simi jealous of my ambition due to their past failures or their own lost ambition.

This is just what I needed on a Monday morning. Now I'm focused to work toward my goals this week. No matter how hard I try, it seems your blogs are what keep me going. Thanks for caring and for taking the time to encourage us.

Once again some very insightful information Dean, thanks. I do however have a question and it relates to time management... How do you do it!? You seem to be going a mile a minute and somehow manage to fit it all into one day and I was curious if you, or anyone out there, had some tips on how to more wisley manage the time in a day. Thanks again.

I've looked up buyers,sellers and talked to some real estate agents. Have'nt found that go getta perfect sgent match like Matt Larson yet, but I think I can work with a couple of them. Got a list of vacant houses in my area and am trying to contact those owners. I'm checking my MLS listings daily sent by a couple of agents and getting a lot of good information. Gotta get it to turn for me. I'm determined to get it done.

Thank you Dean for your inspiration. I'll be married 25 years next April, and even the bad times have all worked out for my good, so keep up the good work there too, you can make it. My wife is slowly taking an interest in what I'm trying to accomplish in real estate. She heard your blog as I was listening to it and we both admire the wisdom of your thinking.
