Dean Graziosi Weekly Video Blog #120 - The Myth of the Leisurely Life
March 13th, 2011 | posted by dgadmin
Well for many students this is the first week of Spring Break.
A time where students everywhere throw aside the books and exchange their classes and studying for something else.
Right now, countless kids across the country are happier because they PERCIEVE their life just got easier.
Would you agree with the statement "most of us are looking for a way to make life easier?"
Did you ever stop to wonder whether life is SUPPOSED to be easy?
Are we inherently designed for leisure or labor?
This week Dean shares something he JUST discovered that could hold the answer to those questions and make you think in a whole new direction. Watch and then let Dean and all of us know what you think.

Hi all:
Thanks Dean for another reminder from my past.
I was taught a long time ago that "It's not the size of a man in the fight, it's the size of the fight that's in the man." To be PC, let's add woman to that statement. Setbacks happen! They've happened to everyone who's been successful. If you remember back to your younger years, remember all the stories of triumphs. (ie: The turtle and the hair, David and Goliath, etc.) The key is to never give up. Keep plugging away. With all the setbacks I've had in my life, that's what I've been doing much to the amazement of my family and friends. I keep going no matter what!
Dean might be more eloquent in his delivery but here's life in "Real Time": SH*T happens and it's not always preventable. Learn from it, grow from it and move on from it. Don't ever wallow in it!
'til next time,

financing for Canadians in the USA
Hi Dean
When are u going to help Canadians get financing in the states so that we can take advantage of this fabulous market. Toronto does NOT have these deals, so we started our Delaware company last year but do not have a credit history in the states. Everything we bought has been with our own cash (equity from our own home) and we are "stuck," have no more $$ available to us to buy more. We need a lender that will not charge 25%, as these deals do not turn around quickly and there has to be a profit for everyone or why do it? We don't need more books or materials, what we need is someone to lend us money at a reasonable interest. We obviously have a great credit rating in Canada but we have looked for the last 3 years, and there are no deals as good as in the states that we can afford to buy. A parking spot in a condo building starts at $35,000. and most properties in our area of Oakville Ontario start @ 350,000. and they need work! PLEASE HELP!
Recovery Time!
Thanks again for thinking about us, and helping us getting back up. We can count on you to motivate us no matter what.
Thanks for all you do. Greatly appreciate it!

Chase Your Dream!
Perfect Timing
Hi Dean,
Your blog was just what I needed. I had pheumonia and a severe sinus infection for 5 weeks. I was miserable. I felt better for 2 weeks and then I relapsed and was sick again for 4 1/2 weeks. Then I spent several nights in the Emergency Room with my husband. He has a severe blockage in his right leg and has no pulse from his thigh to his ankle. Now he is going to have an angiogram and then surgery. He will be out of work while he recovers and will be on disability. Since I lost my job, I have zero income. We are in big trouble. I have been so caught up with all of this that I am so off track. But your blog made me remember, we all have problems. Some much worse than mine. I will be spending all day tomorrow on the phone talking to the people that I have been working with to build my Power Team. I need to pick me up by the boot straps and get back to work. As you have said I need to "Fake it until I make it".
Thank you Dean,

TRUE HAPPINESS is an "INSIDE JOB"!!!
Wow Lisa!!--(from the last comment)
I am SO sorry to hear what you've been going through too!
I found out that I may possibly have a small Arachnoid Cyst in my brain as well as Hydrocephalus (also known as "water on the brain") which is too much cerebralspinal fluid in the brain.
Since December 2010, my daughter and I were hit HEAD-ON in an automobile accident and JUST A WEEK LATER, I fell and hit the right side of my head on my bathroom floor (which I totally believe was caused by poor judgment--from being under SO much stress since the accident) and got a concussion!!
Interestingly, I have just listened to a voice recording from a Public Lecture called:
"Have No Anxiety"--PRICELESS WISDOM and knowledge about how "HAPPINESS IS AN INSIDE JOB and HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF OUR OUTER CIRCUMSTANCES!"
Whether we know it or NOT--WE ADULTS STILL DO PLAY SOME GAMES-- MIND "GAMES"!!
HOW MANY of us have EVER "PLAYED" the:
"I'LL BE HAPPY WHEN........." GAME?????
It's a BUCKET WITH A HUGE HOLE IN IT PEOPLE!!
A Person IS NEVER SATISFIED!! If they make a million
per year, they want 10 million; if they make 10 million, they want to be a billionaire. It is a VICIOUS CYCLE that NEVER ENDS!!
THAT KIND OF THINKING CAN EVEN LEAD TO SUICIDE which is what happened to a VERY CLOSE RELATIVE of mine--
who I believe HAD THAT KIND OF THINKING and PLAYED THAT HORRIBLE "GAME"--which only ADDED to her DISEASE
of DEPRESSION!!! Yes, I call it a DISEASE--because it is NO DIFFERENT than CANCER--DEPRESSION is a DISEASE of the MIND and EMOTIONS and FEELS LIKE A SLOW DEATH!!
I KNOW from MY OWN BATTLE WITH IT since I WAS A CHILD!!
NOW I HAVE learned that HAPPINESS DEPENDS ON what
Proverbs 15:15 says:
"All the days of the afflicted one are bad; but the one that is good at heart [has] a feast constantly."
So, it's how we TRAIN OUR MINDS TO FOCUS ON THINGS LIKE Philippians 4:5-9 says:
"Let YOUR reasonableness become known to all men. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let YOUR petitions be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard YOUR hearts and YOUR mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well spoken of, whatever virtue there is and whatever praiseworthy thing there is, continue considering these things. 9 The things that YOU learned as well as accepted and heard and saw in connection with me, practice these; and the God of peace will be with you."
So by REJECTING NEGATIVE THINKING and REPLACING that with POSITIVE PROPER THOUGHTS, we can be "having a feast constantly" EVEN THOUGH our CIRCUMSTANCES may be BAD at the time!!
So, TRUE HAPPINESS DOES NOT DEPEND ON having a nice house, or our spouse or our children or ANYTHING EXTERNAL--THOSE THINGS ARE BONUSES and ADD to the ENJOYMENT of life but are NOT the BASIS or FOUNDATION for TRUE HAPPINESS.
Since we all are interested in Real Estate or HOMES, we can ALL appreciate this illustration:
DOES THE STABILITY OF A HOUSE DEPEND ON WHAT TYPE OF CURTAINS YOU PUT UP OR WHETHER IT HAS A JACUZZI OR NOT?? NO!!
IT DEPENDS ON IT HAVING A GOOD FOUNDATION!
ANYTHING ELSE ADDED IN the HOUSE is a BONUS and HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FOUNDATION FOR the SECURITY OF THE HOUSE.
USE THIS PICTURE ILLUSTRATION as a REMINDER in your HEAD--THAT the SAME THING APPLIES TO TRUE HAPPINESS!!
It HAS NOTHING TO DO with THESE extra BONUSES!
This knowledge has been LIFE CHANGING for me and I learned it ALL FOR FREE!!!
Since I have been going through so much, I wasn't able to comment on last week's blog with PRECIOUS Brody!
I think the question was posed: what do you do when you fall down?
Well, since I JUST listened to this information about TRUE HAPPINESS, my answer would be:
1) Ask myself: "Does this problem, condition or circumstance CHANGE the FOUNDATION of my happiness?
Once I get my THINKING CORRECT and ON-TRACK, then I HAVE LESS ANXIETY and that FREES UP MY MIND to PLAN A SOLUTION!
2) During ANY PROBLEM, but ESPECIALLY WHEN SOME or ALL of my circumstances ARE OUT OF MY CONTROL--LIKE WITH WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN JAPAN--the Bible says to THROW ALL OF OUR BURDENS UPON JEHOVAH and HE HIMSELF WILL SUSTAIN US!! (Psalm 55:22)
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, MANY of our spiritual "Brothers and Sisters" HAVE BEEN AFFECTED by the earthquake, tsunami and the radiation, but I KNOW that RELIEF HELP through THE AWESOME organization is ALREADY on it's way!!
I know I am not able to go, but ONE THING I CAN DO IS-- I CAN PRAY for them and ALL PEOPLE in JAPAN who are going through this terrible tragedy.
Some people may not know this--that Jehovah's Witnesses are also known for helping their neighbors and ANYONE facing a natural disaster.
They have helped rebuild homes for people, etc...
3) Since these disasters ARE OUT OF OUR CONTROL,
I am comforted by the scripture where Jesus gave
A PREVIEW (of what he will SOON do GLOBALLY) when he SPOKE to the SEA ITSELF during a terrible storm and said at Mark 4:37-41:
"Now a great violent windstorm broke out, and the waves kept dashing into the boat, so that the boat was close to being swamped. 38 But he was in the stern, sleeping upon a pillow. So they woke him up and said to him: “Teacher, do you not care that we are about to perish?” 39 With that he roused himself and rebuked the wind and said to the sea: “Hush! Be quiet!” And the wind abated, and a great calm set in. 40 So he said to them: “Why are YOU fainthearted? Do YOU not yet have any faith?” 41 But they felt an unusual fear, and they would say to one another: “Who really is this, because even the wind and the sea obey him?”"

Dean, Thank you for giving sound information of the things that everyone will encounter on the way too their success. Falling down is a part of life.
My first fall is that I lost my book 'Profit from Real Estate Right Now' on Sunday the 13th. I will, however, get another copy. I did write down most of what I needed, but I felt as though I lost something very important too me. Here's to falling down. Thank You Dean.

great topic "recovery"
I had to meditate upon what it means. Sometimes getting up is a lot harder than falling down. Yes we get back up and try it again as youngsters. I think I would even go so far as to say young ones somehow spring back without even thinking about it. Thats just amazing. As we journey thru life we get bigger and bigger and just don't spring back as easy. As I contemplate this I see a mindset is required for recovery.
"I personally believe we must take time to protect, cultivate, preserve and care for our thoughts in order to develop character and contribute good in the world we live in"
Diane Tolenska (b. 1948) Avian publicist, servant and customer service specialist
So, recovery then becomes a choice and we have to choose and own a mindset so we can accomplish what we set out to do in anything.
New Book
Hey Dean and all you DGERS I am thrilled to hear about a new book coming and thanks for another weekly blog.I did want to say that one day you made the comment about maybe you were not the best speller and you had people you hire for that. The last two books I bought were full of mistakes and mispelled words missing periods and words in places that caused confusion.I would like to see this corrected in the new book naturally if this does not slow production and prevent me from getting the book sooner. Thanks Anthony2010
so True
That's a good Eye opener. Thanks Dean

Yes, things happen to all of us. "I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all. 12 For man also does not know his time. Just like fishes that are being taken in an evil net, and like birds that are being taken in a trap, so the sons of men themselves are being ensnared at a calamitous time, when it falls upon them suddenly."
-Eccl. 9:11,12 New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures
I'm currently suffering from a lag in my usual recovery time, but I'm a happy, problem-solving person and I'll be okay. "...God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song..." -Isaiah 12:2 Authorized King James Version
Can't wait to hear more details about your new book, Dean! You won't keep us in suspense for too long, will you?
RECOVERY!
Christ! I just saw this video blog today. Saturday 2 April, 2011.
I was driving around today over here in the San Francisco Bay area where I live. (In the East Bay)And I was thinking "Christ! This ISN'T working." I have been sending letters out and I'm getting no response from them. I must have sent out over 200 letters to personal reps of Probate cases and I'm not making it! I mean it really bothers me that I am not making it. I was thinking about it as I was driving today. It just isn't working. So I found myself feeling kinda depressed about it.(And I RARELY get depressed. Just not into depression. Although I may have a lot to be depressed about)No time for depression.
And then I finally read Dean's email with a link to this video today. And Bam! Dean comes through with the perfect data related to my depression. (See, you don't need anti-depressants! You just got to get to the source of the problem and it will vanish!)
In the video Dean says, "we can look at everything that goes wrong as the worst thing possible." (That's depression) And he goes on to say, "Or we can look at better or more efficent ways to overcome those problems and RECOVER from those problems!" And he went on to say that everyone at his 25K club meeting were all very successful people. And everyone of them has had things go wrong for them. They've all had major set backs. But the difference is that they didn't mope around being all depressed about it and saying "life sucks" or "why does this always happen to me?" They REALIZED that what they just did --- didn't work --- so the answer is to CORRECT the situation and find out what DOES work!
Don't quit. Don't give up. Don't get depressed.
Try another approach!
Anyway this one hit the spot for me today Dean.
Hey Dean!
Of course we watch all the vlogs!, even when we fall off the track or lose the connection to the web for one reason or another, getting back and viewing all the vlogs that were missed is important because there's always some bit of info for something comming up or reminder of a deadline or even the hint that a new BOOK is on the way (can't wait!) but also a place I've come to depend on putting me back on track when I "fall down" and need that extra push to get back up, Thanks always for that Dean.
Talk to ya soon
