Dean Graziosi Weekly Video Blog #120 - The Myth of the Leisurely Life
March 13th, 2011 | posted by dgadmin
Well for many students this is the first week of Spring Break.
A time where students everywhere throw aside the books and exchange their classes and studying for something else.
Right now, countless kids across the country are happier because they PERCIEVE their life just got easier.
Would you agree with the statement "most of us are looking for a way to make life easier?"
Did you ever stop to wonder whether life is SUPPOSED to be easy?
Are we inherently designed for leisure or labor?
This week Dean shares something he JUST discovered that could hold the answer to those questions and make you think in a whole new direction. Watch and then let Dean and all of us know what you think.

Recovery
Thanks Dean, Great point made! We all have problems arise, no matter how much riches and success we may or may not have experanced to this point, but the more positive we stay, and the faster we overcome the set backs, the faster and further we will grow.
Sow Very Powerful!
Dean that was Awesome!
I had some losses in 2010 but I am so fired up for 2011!
Your words of Wisdom is so on point!
The one thing I've learned, and I have this posted where I can read it daily is that,
"People who try to do something and fail are infinitely better off than those who try to do nothing and succeed".
Experiency failure is inevitable on our journey to be successful.
Just remembering that alone keeps me "Pumped to Make Money"!
I hope we are all shooting for the Stars!
We have nothing to lose and everything to GAIN!
Thanks Again
I have to say, "Ditto", to all the comments posted on this site. I usually watch your blog, and then read the comments for more bits of information. Your blog is the catalyst for a multitude of ideas, answers and, of course, solutions.
So, yes, thank you.

DG's weekly blog: Your Recovery Period
Hi Dean,
Thanks so much again for your encouraging comments. I am taking the Success Academy Training at the moment and I still have to make my first deal yet. I know if I keep plugging by being persistent and never give up, I will certainly get my first deal and go on to bigger and better things. I know I can make it. I know I can make my dream come true with your constant encouragement, and encouragements from DG Success Academy coaches I am working with right now.
Thanks again & God bless you,
Daniel Ajamiseba
One Of Your Best Blogs
Recovery is very good, the difference between failure and sucess. We love you dean, keep up the good work.
Oh yeah - I can recover!
Dean, you do know the right things to say!
I have to admit, I've been dragging a bit lately because of some decisions I made on my current project. I paid too much for the home, picked a contractor who is taking too long, the assignments I hoped to be doing at the same time are notzipping along as I'd hoped, etc. And despite my previous "success", I've been getting those terrible thoughts - I'm not good at this, this isn't working, maybe I'm not Really cut out for this......... - NO MORE! I'm getting out of my pitty-party pool and back on the optimistic and confident merry-go-round. The journey isn't easy; the goal is to persevere. Here I go!

quick recovery time
I learned a while back that you can dwell on problems that arise or immediately start working on solutions. We are conditioned at an early age, espicially at school to never make mistakes. I believe you learn more from your mistakes than from your sucesses. You can also learn from other peoples mistakes also. That is why I joined the DG network, to make my learning curve shorter and decrease my mistakes. We'll see how it goes. One more thing to think about before I go. In life; the only real problems you might have are if your kids, spouse, parents, etc. are sick or maybe in the Hospital. Everything else, all the other 'problems' are really just bumps in the road.
Recovery - Great Viewpoint
Dean, what a unique viewpoint you have regarding so many things about real estate that end up being appropro to life in general!! Thanks for taking the time to think this one through and pass it on to your DGers.
Just getting started, and am working to make real estate my life in helping others. My motto: Never Quit, Never Surrender Your Dreams.

Very Important & Underlooked Topic
Wow!!! What great timing you had about Recovery. Yesterday, I had a breakdown with my realtor. She, has never heard of Transactional Funding. Trying to get a conventional realtor who is used to doing real estate the standard tranditional way, and bring transactional funding into the business was quite a obstical course. I myself have not used it yet but on the verge of using it on my REO flips. I have read and did some research and it really seems to be a great tool to fund my flips. Anyway, she was so not very confident about using transactional funding to where it got me discouraged. I came home very discouraged! But I started thinking it out and realized that she was just concerned about me. I soon realized that I took her unconfident appeal towards Transactional Funding and did more research about it and realized even more how great this tool can be used for me. So, my recovery time on this particular breakdown was half a night. But the important key was that I recovered from it rather quickly to keep learning how to ride that bike.
Thanks Dean!!

Recovery and Bouncing back
Dean, this is so spot on, I was JUST talking to someone today who had gone MIA here for a few weeks about this very thing! Lord KNOWS (and many here on this site) of all the obstacles, let downs, failures, shortfalls, tough lessons, being taken, offers that went no where, the umpteen RE agents that didn't work out, ad naseum I've been through on this journey; and that doesn't even count the 13 years BEFORE I got involved with all your strategies and techniques!
I made an analogy in my journal that I heard somewhere, and I don't remember where; it may very well be one of your books, but even the BEST of the BEST in baseball only get 30-35% of what they try batting for. And, REI is much the same. There is a LOT of work involved with things and deals that don't go anywhere that goes hand in hand with the deals that do work; and MANY things in between that go haywire in the midst of successful deals. Recovery is KEY, no feeling sorry for myself; I just get up and GO again.
Thank you for reminding everyone the importance of giving - that is truly some of the best advice!
Thank you Dean
Thank you Dean for this very inspiring video. You are a fantastic teacher. I needed some encouraging words,I feel like I need this every day , cause it is very hard to go through this first deal. Thank you again. Halina
Thanks Dean
Another very important point. Not everyone will strive for the same form of success, since they vary. My success may be to obtain 100 houses and another may just want ten and believe that this is their max. The decision is based on the individual and what they determine to be their success. As always, Dean you continue to keep on on our toes.
thanks!
thank you Dean, defenetly sometimes we get stuck in the recovery process to long, maybe fearful to make a move, but you believe, and inspire us, and things start to happen, and then you make me believe, and that is awsome!
Another book!
Can't wait! I wish I could get those audio books I ordered on regular CD i/o MP3 downloads. I would SO love to be able to listen to them in the car! I STILL haven't figured out how to convert them to regular CDs.
PS... this book doesn't have anything to do with hair loss prevention methods using REI does it?
Blog
As usual a great Blog. Gives you a lot to thank about I loved seeing your son, Kids and grand kids are special, and to have more time with them is what I am working for with your program. I enjoy the phone conferences with you and Matt. I had the pleasure of meeting him, what a great person. We are working with our mentor, and looking forward to our first deal. Love the program. I look forward to Monday and a new Blog. Thank You Dean I feel as though I have been reborn 65 isn't old it's a great time start a new life.
Merry
recovery
I know what you are talking about. We all need to know how to recover form that lost deal, the financing fell through, the seller said No! and the list goes on. We just have to kind of bring all that negative energy and start to recover. But the joy of it all is the lesson learned. I started calling banks today, all four said No REO's but I will move on to the next project, I've learned through Dean that as long as we keep doing something in real estate we have taken one more step to reach that goal that's still very much alive in us, and we keep that fire burning! thank you so much Dean you are such a blessing....
Public Servant
You truly are a public servant. We used to call our doctors, politicians, and ministers public servants, but most of them have lost sight of being a public servant. It seems that today most people are self-centered and self-serving. I am amazed as I watch you give of yourself to others sacrifically week after week. I grew up in a minister's home and was taught as a child to serve others and put others ahead of myself. This week's blog opened my eyes to the fact that I have a bad habit of giving all my time and resources to meet the needs of others and not doing the things I know I need to do for myself. I realized today while watching your blog that it would not be selfish of me to prioritize my time and do what I know I really need to do for myself to make this work. I could be more helpful in the long run to others especially to those I love.
One of your best, if not the best!
Dean,
As always, it's worth watching your weekly cheerleading.
You really are one of the best cheerleaders on the planet!
And that's a big deal, because it makes a lot of difference. Your pep talks make life's harsh realities easier to take. For us who are still trying to climb up the mountain of success.
And thanks much for that, even though I haven't seen the 1st penny yet on this R E investing.
But I may get my dream job real soon, God-willing!
And your weekly pep talks sure helped a lot to keep my spirits up during the bleak moments.
Sincerely,
Aurora

Never cease to amaze Dean!
Hey Dean, fantastic blog for this week! Wow, have I been stuck under a rock for quite some time now. I've been so bombarded with the stress and busyness of my life, that I haven't been connected with you or my DG family for weeks! Anyhow, I usually like to take the time to really acknowledge your great work Dean, and put some keen emphasis on these blogs, but I'm running like crazy today so I'm gonna make this short.
I think recovery from falls are so important, and I know as well as everyone else that they're not always easy. For me, if it's not the motivational push from a caring person in my life, it's usually an occurrence that sends the message loud and clear that time is running out and it's now or never. But one thing real quick, something I learned from my daily devotional today from Joel Osteen....is that we all go through midsts of storms in our lives, but it's up to us to determine how we go through those storms and let our faith activate God's work in our lives. Thanks so much again Dean for everything, and I will not only do this for you and my DG family, but I will also work hard for myself as well to not be a stranger and get connected more often to our social network. Take care Dean and God Bless!
Andre
thanks
Thanks again!
Wonderful Blog
It's hard to put in words how the blogs are so inspirational right at the exact moment when I need a certain little something extra to keep the momentum going. Thanks Dean for the continued encouragement.
Thanks again!
Dean,
Great blog. Looking forward to your new book!
Good reminder!
We all know this is true in every aspect of our lives. We need to keep in mind why we wanted to do real estate investing. When learning to drive a car at 16, just because it didn't go right the first time, we wanted it so bad, we kept trying. When we lose sight of the end and why we are doing this, we give up easier.
But when it is something so exciting that we know it will change our lives, we don't care about all the set backs, we jump back in right away and try again.
Today my partner and I lost on a deal, because another investor talked this seller into working with them. We had been talking with the seller for about a week and today called about getting the contract done after running the numbers. It was quite a blow when my partner found out what had happened. But it didn't stop us.
She was upset that we lost out on this, but already had a few more places ready to work on. We both can't afford to dwell on it, we want this to work and don't want to waste any time.
We need to stay focused on where this is taking us, and the reasons for doing this.
When you stay focused, you don't think about falling, just getting there!!
Looking forward to your new book!!
Sandi
Great Blog
Hi Dean,
Great words of wisdom! The recovery is the key. We are trying to keep moving as we travel this road. We bought our first property and are rehabing it now. Had a few challenges along the way but we keep it moving forward. Thanks for all you do for us! Have a most blessed week.

the myth
I love the fact that you used the word "journey". This journey is your life, has plenty of obstacles, recovery time, and success big and small. Take each step with pride. Love your neighbor. Always continue your journey!
Giving up is not an option.
